Ok I flipped the carb around so I could get to the LSN on the maxx.

The problem is the fuel nipple on the carb now points directly at the spur gear. If I get it to where the inlet is facing the right way, its not tight enough to stayed screwed in. I tryed adding some o-rings to maybe change the postion of where it gets tight.

Unfortunetaly again, I think the o rings are too thick. When I tighten it down snug, they mush out the sides.

This is a trx .15 stock carb. I'm about ready to give up. It seems nothing is simple, always a complication. Either that or I'm just needing to learn a ALOT more. I walked away I'm getting os fed up at this point heh

Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm.... I did the carb flip a while back and all I had to do was rotate the nipple and tighten it back down.
I think you're overthinking this.

I just took the needle off a trx .15 to see. It looks like you have about 1/2 turn on the lock nut to work with, where the oring still touches the nut. I think you can just point it where you want and tighten down the lock nut.

i just looked at a pic off of tower and it looks like a carb one my ST like the both said above tighten down the lock-nut which is that lik black nut at the bottom

The way it is facing now is fine, but the o-rings are all mushed out. If I tighten down the thing without the o rings, it gets tight facing the spur gear. If their is away to adjust it, i dont understand.

am I missing a nut some where?

Odd, its making me edit instead of reply.

oh ic what your talking about the o-rings those are tricky to get in there somtimes when I'm havn a hard time getting them in i use a very small thin flat crewdriver and very carfully push them in while I'm tightening it making sure not to damage it

I dont need the o-rings to make the seal, but without them it points the wrong way

You don't need the second o-ring. The nut on the body tightens against the carb, with a small oring between the nut and the upper part of the needl valve. Take out the big o-ring between the lock nut and the carb.

here like this

That nut between the big hex of the needle valve and the carb body lets you lock the needle down at any angle.

It puts your new post in your previous one if no one else replys, and you post again within 5 minutes or so.

Scottm is right... Take that O-ring out that you added, loosen the locking nut, adjust the fuel nipple to where you want it, then tighten the locknut down on the carb.

I thnk i have it fixed, I removed the O-ring

Do you guys see my issue tho? as you tighen the lock nut,the lock nut pulls away from the fuel nipple, loosing the seal where the O ring is.

Yes, but you have a 1/2 turn to work with where it still makes good contact. I dont think it does much anyway.

Most of thes HSN have a section that is threaded and a section that is rotatable. The TRX Pro .15 has such a needle. You should be able to loosen the needle, rotate it to the desired direction, and then tighten down the needle. I know that this has been mentioned within this thread, but all of this talk of adding and subtracting o-rings or gaskets and other information seems to be clouding the issue.

You should only have to loosen the bottom of the two hex looking fixtures on the needle. Once loosened, the upper hex looking fixture is actually the needle housing and is there for you to grab with plyers in order to rotate it around. Once moved, retighten the lower hex looking fixture and you should be set.

Thanks sky, one last Q now that I have the needle set and ready to go, I really muffed up my HSV settings anyone know what default is for this motor/carb?

This is the TRX Pro .15, correct? If so, the factory presets for the needles should be:
HSN = 2.5 turns open (counterclockwise)
LSN = 1.75 turns open (counterclockwise)
idle set screw = set so that there is between 1mm and 2mm gap in the carb. 1-2mm is the equivalent of a credit card thickness.

Thank you , problem(s) solved yes, trx Pro .15

I think having the slipper to tight hosed my front diff (hence the other thread)

It's definetaly the diff, and definetaly shot. I think I will pull the axles out and run as a sport maxx until I get a new diff.

Thank you all for the help. Sometimes it's little and obivous, sometimes its technical but it's always nice to have.

Hey Lykan, I might have some stock diff gears somewhere...lol
I'll give em to ya, if I locate them...lol

Sorry about the obvious...gets that way from explaining it over and over again to newbies. Sometimes I forget which part of the RC crowd I am talking to.

Glad to have helped, and I'll try and be less obvious. Can I be totally obscure with you?
