I dont know how, but I broke the throat off my carb. Now, my replacement one wont fit all the way in, there is about a 1/8th inch gap between the stop and the throat opening. I tried the old broken throat and it had the same gap. Is this normal for all motors, or is my motor wierd?

I'm not familiar with that particular engine, but the carb should seat firmly. How about the O-ring? Is it in place? Sometimes a little twisting side to side as you push down will seat them properly.
Other than that, wait on someone with that engine for the complete info.

Make sure there is no debris inside the carb opening on the engine, if there is nothing there, then check the pinch bolt that is used to tighten down the carb and make sure it's loose and aligned with the opening to allow the carb to slide all the way down.

I fixed the problem, turns out it just needed a little bit of jiggling to go all the way in. Boy do I feel stupid. Thanks for the help.
