i was jumping my revo the other day and it ended up cartwheeling into a dog bowl full of water. it kept running and i drove it a little while longer and it seemed fine. the next day the easy start wont do anything. i charged the battery and still nothing. only the motor light is on. did i short the started with the water or whats going on. it might be awhile before i get back to you guys because of my job but thanks in advance.

Check for any loose wires also when the engine lite is on does the engine turn over, also take apart the ez start gear box and check all the gears to make sure they move freely, also hook up the red and blake wires to the motor and press the button and see if the motor turns. if all this checks out you probly have a dead ez start controller. I have gone through 2 of them.

If the EZ start motor will not turn over it may be that your engine piston is "locked" in TDC. Take out your glow plug and try to turn the engine over with the ez-start.

You may want to replace your glow plug.

If the glow light is not coming on, check the plug or the blue wire to it. Even if the motor is smoked or there's other problems with the gear box you should get the glow light. If it's not cranking at all on top of that, check the black and red wires at the connector underneath the protective cover, before I removed my sleazy-start both my red and black broke at the connector and you couldn't even tell.

the same thing happend to mine.... I checked the engine by turning it by hand, that was ok... I sprayed denatured alcohol all in it and let it sit for a while, I than blew it dry with a compressor. The next day it ran fine.

thanks for the help guys, still not sure what the problem was but it is working now. i took the glow plug out and turned the engine and then cleaned all the conections. after that it worked fine. sorry i forgot to mentiong that i use a glow igniter.

Yes, I forgot which one but there is a backplate made for the 2.5r. I was going to go that route but opted out cause I didn't want to deal with OWB's so I bought an RD Starter box.

Yes you can. Find the one on tower hobbies or elsewhere for the 2.5 T-Maxx. same back plate. I have it and it works like a charm.

This is the one I have:
