I need help pleeeaaaaase. I was out bashing today and noticed a big drop in my acceleration so I went home to find the problem. The problem is that my flywheel is spinning on the shaft but i can't get the clutchbell off to tighten the nut that holds the flywheel on. Normally I would just hold the flywheel to keep the shaft from spinning while I unscrew the clutchbell but that won't work now. Can someone please tell me what i need to do to get the clutchbell off. Oh yea, I don't know if matters but it is the S-25 engine. Thanks in advance.

That is what I usually do but the problem is that the flywheel nut has backed off a little so now the shaft just spins when I turn the clutchbell screw even when I hold the flywheel. Is there another way to keep the Shaft from spinning?

Use a piston lock if you have one. It's a tool that screws in the plug hole and locks the piston before it gets to top dead center. If you don't have one, use a pop cicle stick in the exhaust port. This is not the preferable way to do this since it could damage the piston if you torque it too much. Use some heat on the CB and bolt area, heat is your friend and will help loosen the bolt. put the stick in the exhaust port and gently turn the bolt till the piston seats on the stick (like it's gonna gillotine it), then carefully try to loosen the bolt.

As before, use this method only as a last resort and be careful.

Thanks for the help guys. I just learned a cool little trick that work liked a charm so I thought I'd share it in case someone ever has this problem. I put a little after run oil into the cylinder through the exhaust outlet--enough to make it liquid lock. It kept the piston from cycling and let me loosen the clutchbell screw. Thanks again for the help.

I completely forgot about that one. Thanks for posting it.
