hi guys ,

ok hers the problem recently i can't get my engined tuned properly .

i can but only in warm/hot weathers when the fuel/air mixture is rich !

in the cold weather it is a nightmare. it takes me about 15 pulls from the p/start. when engine is uop and running its sluggish until it hits 1/3 throttle then runs fine .

if this helps:
the engine has had about 2 gallons through it

i tune my engine rich to lean

the compression is good

thanks nf123

i got a thundertiger ssk with a pro .15 bxs p/start engine

When the weather changes you have to change your tuning. If I am correct, I believe that you need to RICHEN your mixture in cold weather.

I'm no tuning expert, but I know you can't run a car in hot and cold weather and expect it to hold tune.

spit i thought u have ton rich the fuel/air mixture because kepp your engine running not to overheat

in the cold weather u have to lean the fuel/air mixture

you richen to compensate for denser air when it's cold. You are compensating for air/fuel mixture with the needles, not just temperature of the cooling head.

When it is cold (below 50*F) some wrap part of the head with electrical tape to get the temps up to normal operating temperature.

diver r u seroius about the tape bit ??

can some1 tell me how they tune thier engine that would be brilliant.

or give me some good tips to properly tune a engine thank you nf123

Cooler air equals richer tuning. If you are already running on the rich side in the warm air, you might just want to leave the engine alone and see what happens.

Otherwise, you will need to pre-heat the engine in order to reduce the number of pulls for starting. Some use socks, electricians tape, duct tape, and still others use a hair dryer or other heat blower to get things warmed up.

When I run mine in the snow, I put a hair dryer on the block for about a minute to get the engine nice and warm, then crank it up.

diver is right bud ,
cold weather either tune to break in settings and then procede from there and if yo ualready have a body with the windshield cut for cooling you can either tape the hole shut .(looks like poop but works)or like spit said wrap foil about 1/2 way up or a old sock over the cooling head to bring it too temp
as for tuning i am sure someone can shout out some help with that i suck at telling without hearing ,but i normally set to stock settings then just tune for performance and then check temps if they are cold around 200 then lean a tad, if too warm 260 or above fatten it ,or remove the sock or foil and try it

i aint got a temp gun thou I'm a bit tight on money at the but will get one soon

ill try that hair dryer one i will
