My buddy has an LST, it has always ran awesome and never really had any problems. The last couple of times he has had it out, it wouldn't start. The first time it started happening, when he took the glow plug out, the igniter/filament would get smashed/crushed from trying to start it. Well, it did that to like 3 glow plugs, and it hasn't done it recently. Anyone had this problem or can give me some ideas for him to try. This thing just wont start, you can try till you run the batteries dead.

Other stuff, he has never ran it hot/overheated it. Used the same brand of fuel from day one. No mods done to the engine, no pipe, stock filter.

Nope, he always had the copper gasket on the plugs as well...

Somethings not right if it's smashing the glowplug. Did some head shims fall off and not replaced? Is the heads button in upside down? Are the threads to the button-head o.k. or stripped somewhat or cross-threaded?

My guess would be the button-head was replaced upside down.

If the glowplug gets hit,it gets hit by the piston top. This means some shims are mising. There is no other way.

Simple logic.

There must be a space ,or the engine will never run.
