Hi, i just started rebuilding my old tmaxx .15, and I'm doing an engine swap in it. I'm putting in the 2.5r.. buttt.. havin some difficulties getting the flywheel nut off of the crankshaft on my old .15 engine. I tried to get a socket on it but none will fit over it because of the two little pins that are on the flywheel. tried getting it with a set of plyers but its tight as hell. any suggestions? Thanks

Use an 8mm glow plug wrench. The nut is the same size. As for holding the crank, stick a zip tie in the exhaust port if the flywheel comes loose before the nut is off.

Yep, the glow plug wrench is the ticket. But, I never liked blocking the piston with anything. Sometimes you put so much force on it you can damage the con rod or piston itself. I use a set of waterneck pliers or a vice and clamp the flywheel.

Yeah, same here. I only put the zip tie in the exhaust if the flywheel pops off before the nut is completely off, since I like to put blue loctite on the nut.

If it still won't come off, put a heat gun to it ($20 bucks in a paint supply store) or if your significant other doesn't have a problem then put it in the oven and try it then.
