can't apply throttle

Is this a brand new--fresh outta the box rig? If so the factory HSN settings are a bit rich, and could be bogging you down on take-off. Try leaning it out about 1/16 of an inch and try her again.

It actually sounds lean to me... I would try richening it first, as that won't hurt your engine as running lean would. If that doesn't work then lean it out.

Then again, there isn't much to go by so...

its not new stared from factory settings 4 out hsn lsn flush . if i gun the throttle engine boggs down then cuts out.

try 2 1/2 out on high speed and 1 1/2 on low speed thats usely a good spot to start

thats what traxxas told me 2 1/2 out

Dude, stock on a TRX engine is 4 on the HSN and flush on the LSN. Please stop giving bad info.

When it bogs, does it sound gurgly or does it sounds like BOOOooo.... ? If it's gurgling then it's rich.

2 1/2 turns out???

Your mill will run 300 plus on the temps. (I know it will be more)

I'm going to have to agree with Cupooterluvr on his last post man.

I know i have messed up a time or 2 and said the wrong thing. Like ment one thing but typed another. I mean we are all human. And thank god i have been corrected by all the great people here. Even got my Nads busted ahheem i won't mention any names RC LMAO..

But Jumpin Jimminy Man. Your running a bad streak.

Back on subject. Trx as stated above is 4 hsn and 1 1/2 lsn. Yes it is rich. But On these engines a great starting point.

Now you can also try 3 3/4 on hsn and 1 3/4 on lsn. This also is another stock setting givin by Traxxas.

i agree 3 3/4 hsn and 1 3/4 on lsn is perfect starting point on the 3.3

i started 2 1/2 hsn and 1 1/2 lsn it kept the rig running at temps between 208 to 223 is it safe to lean for more performance ? by the way thanks for the info earlier.

Those temps are in the low range but are good if you are breaking it in. Lean it out a 1/16th to 1/8th and see if she doesn't take off a little better for you.

For break in between 200 and 220.
After break in anywhere from 240 to about 260 it all depends on what your rig likes. Aways go by sounds, smells and smoke coming out back. I just wouldn't run anything past 265 Thats MO.

Even if it is less than 240 if your rigg runs great then stay there. But this is just MO Like i said before.

Traxas mills tend to like it hotter than most mills. I wouldn't push the panic buton unless you get above 280 and stay there. Some mills like it that way. You can switch to a cooler plug if things get hairy for you as summer approches.

Like Joe said--it's more about sound and blue exhaust smoke than about actual temps. Just do not ever get it above 290 or she's gonna be toast!

I'm getting plenty smoke at full throttle but take off doesn't give me the wheelies every body talks about with the t maxx 3.3 4908 model?
