Hey guys,

I have a T-Maxx (model 4910) that I bought along time ago. I finally took it out of storage( been around 5-6 years! :\) the other day to start messing around with it with my kid, but couldn't get it to start. I tried and tried, and by doing so I saw alot of smoke from the ez start motor. So, needless to say I think I fried the ez start motor! Anyhow, I am going to order a replacement, but figured I would ask around here if it were possible to install the ez start 2 system instead of the older system. Or is my truck too old to support the new system?

Also, since it has been so long running the truck, are there any pointers to get it running again? I know for sure the ez start has got to be shot considering all the smoke coming out of it, but other than that, I dont see anything else holding it back from starting. I changed the glow plug and glow lead wire already.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!:D

I also pulled an old Maxx out of storage and it was my motor that was seized.. but i cld tell straight away cause when i went to start it the engine did not turn over..due to my lack of knowledge yrs ago i did not store it properly.. can you (could you) hear the piston rotating..? also i had old fuel which had turned to jelly blocking my fuel line.. i wld recommend replacing anyway(only a few $$) it might have gone slighty brittle making the risk of a leak higher..

As to your fisrt question I'm not really sure.. But the Ezy Start on my OLD Maxx classic 2.5 was exactly the same shape and size as on my NEW Revo 3.3 less is than 6 mths old.. so i wld say yes.. but neither say 'Ezy Start 2'

To help you get it started i wld recommend resettin the HSN and LSN back to factory settings and make sure there is a 1-2 mm gap with your idle screw.

Good luck and there are so mant ppl on here with WAY more knowledge than me so I'm sure they will give you some helpfull info..
