I like to make birds nest eggs when I have the time.
Cook up a good load of hash browns. Make a nest out of them and put them under a broiler. Just when they start to get crisp, lay an egg :) in the nest and broil it to your likeing. If you want, you can deep fry the nest.

I also like making happy faces, mickey mouses, or whatever when I toss up some pancakes. Ever have chocolate chip waffles with a scoop of ice cream on top for dinner? Try that on your BBQ :D

Wow, most of us have a lot more in common than we previously knew.

Robriguez, I got married at 35 and it was the same for me when I was single, I like good food, I needed to eat, and I was health conscious back then so I preferred to cook at home. Most of the time it was BBQ with a side dish and salad, and of course ended up being chicken a lot, as per my soon to be wife's complaint.

Ed, I do eggs for my wife inthose little shaped metal things. We have all kinds of animal shapes, hearts, blah, blah. Then I put each one on a butted English Muffin, with a piece of cheese between. She loves those!

Plaid, for abouthe past 10-12 years every end of January, (because then it is finally cool enough around here to cook that much) I also make, totally from scratch, about 6 pans of lasagna. I used to make my own sausage but I found better tasting ones at an Italian store near my house. (Actually, it is right next to my vet, hmmmmmm)..??? I use no less than 4 different cheeses, two meats and spinach layer as well.

Tom, my wife loves when I cook, she says I am the cleanest cook she has ever seen. I try to clean up a bit as I go and I don't slop everything all over the counter because I hate having it get on all the other ingredients.

Candyman, it was a joke when we first got married as my mother in law would ask what I wanted for Christmas or my birthday and usually it was something cooking related. I love the KithcenAid stand mixer. I have almost all the attachments including the food processor, the meat grinder, the grain mill, and the pasta press.

I lost my Kitchen aid to an accident during the split up.....it was mine and the bitch tred to take it on the sly...I saw it snatched it out of the basket and hucked it off the stairs into the parking lot.....the TV was gonna go too but I gained my senses...LOL....

I had a funny feeling it was gonna come to this.

Plaid, no recipes involving hand grenades, though, OK?

Looks like tonight is going to be Ribeye with Balsamic syrup and Chevre. And my GF is going to make me some potato pancakes to serve it all on. And my favorite baby Brussel sprouts with a little garlic and butter.

I love brussel sprouts with a sh*tload of butter on them. As my wife says, "There is no vegetable you can't have too much butter or cheese on!" (and she only weighs 118!)

Last night had homemade clam chowder and a salad. Maybe I'll do chicken tonight, for old times sake. Winds finally went away so now I can BBQ again.

I'm 16,I can cook anything on the grill, stove, and the oven.On my dads side of the family the holidays were a big thing with cooking. We have that grill going year around, people think we are weird when their is a foot of snow and we are grilling steaks.Me and my dad do most of teh cooking in the house,i think it is relaxing.

Brussel Sprouts steam much faster and are more tender if you cut an X in the stem. Same works with artichokes.

Butter with fresh squeezed Lemon juice, possibly some lemon pepper. Mmmm..
Got me thinking whats for dinner. I've been on a diet. Lost 10 lbs so far. I need to eat something full of sin.

Neat tip, never heard it before. I have to go, um, err, shopping tomorrow so I'll pick up some sprouts or maybe even an artichoke. BTW, my wife likes the melted butter for her artichokes, but I make a peppery (cayenne) mayo concoction for mine.

On edit: Our pop up Google ads are now shoppingus for recipes...

Geez, Rob, you and my wife. She hates peas, no matter how much butter or cheese is on them. Even picks them out of fried chinese rice and texas rice like that served at Outback.

When I was around 9 years old my dad forced me to eat peas. I promptly puked the rest of my dinner all over my plate.

Hey fasteddy, An artichoke is one of very few vegetables I havn't tasted,
but I'm curious, is there anything that it tastes similar to? Or am I simply going to have to find out for myself?

In all seriousness, may not be a bad idea, Ed! I make an awesome Oreo cheesecake!

I've had one already. these things are good until you gotta go.

has anyone had oreos wrappeed in dow and coooked in a bunch of grease? i had this a while back and that was awsome.

I've had deep fried oreos and twinkies?

i cook on the grill all year long and then its either smoking or depp frying, I'm not too good on the stove or oven.

Jeep, they really are mainly flavorless and when you start with the most outermost "leaves" they are very fiberous, but as you get closer to the "heart" they get more flavor and softer. You peel each leaf, dip in melted butter with spices and herbs of your choice, or in my case the cayenne pepper enhanced mayo, and then place it big end first into your mouth, upside down and then scrape the little bit of flesh on the leaf off with your bottom teeth. Once you get to the heart, you cut it up with a fork and knife and dip it, eat it. That's the best part, but it is fun to eat up to then, too. If you don't like it, well, at least now you kow!
