Has anyone taken off 4 stockshocks and raced with only 4.
I was wondering if it will work if I use 1-piston and very thick oil and extra stiff springs.has anybody tried it or know someone who has.
 
you might be able to get away with that but you'd be putting a lot of stress on those shocks.. probably blow a cap with such firm damping. I think it's pretty popular to use 4 buggy shocks though. I'm not sure what kind. I think UE makes a set specifically for that purpose but I'm not sure.
 
The UE shocks are awesome! You only really need 4 of em, and they are super strong. You can't go wrong with UE!
 
Were can I get some UE shocks I always here great things about them

Yes, yes and yes.

Alot depends on the track (obviously), aslong as there is no severe air or technical portions, you can have success with 4. Admittedly most of the guys running 4 are not running the stock shocks.

Question back at you, why do you want to run only 4??

damn cement hallways to much echo lol.
But yes a weight reduction.
Their is this chump kid down the road from my house who has an older ruslter that he put higher teeth gears in and he always wants to dragrace me down our road. The thing is he wants to compete with me on all these contests he has like how can do better b flips who can jump higher who can lay the fastest lap times stuff like that, Well I beat him over and over at all the contests but the drag and he wont shut up about it. Well I have taken off the ez and a few other things but he still wins by about 4 feet so I figured If I can take off 4 shocks and see if that will help. cause I just need to lighten up my maxx abit
 
Flat track drag racing...the 4 shock set-up would be no problem.

For a little more top end you can change your gearing. Few less teeth on the spur or a few more teeth on the clutch bell.

Take off the bumpers and bumper mounts, only fill your fuel tank about half, if you still have reverse you can rig it up to stay in forward and remove the forward/reverse shifting servo.

Only four feet...you gotta whip this punk.

I had the same problem with my son. He has a Nitro Sport SE and with a few mods it would just stay ahead of my Maxx. I swapped out the Spur with a 68 tooth and WOW it woke it right up. The trans shifts into second real quickly and the truck is gone. The handling isn't the greatest at that speed, and you better make sure your tires are glued!

I went to 4 and put on my other lighter tires and headed out. And now I hold all contests under my maxx.
I won 2 times and he didnt want to race after that. Then he wanted to give it one more try he got a head of me and stoped when I was going WOT. as I yell you stupid SOB I hit his rustler I broke nothing but it did kill my engine but it started right up, but I busted his rear shock tower and bent a shock shaft and cracked his batt box. I just said u got what u diserved.
 
lol thats funny. I was out last summer with my rustler and this little kid up the street kept telling me that thing is junk its so slow. He had some radio shack or walmart truck and I was supprised it actually beat my rusty weeks went by and I had been building up my rustler 10 turn motor new esc and I had dremeled the chassis out and he comes over want to loose again I'm like sure ill let you win lol. When we took off my Rustler took off sideways spinning the tires I beat him by about half a block lol. I havent seen that kid since haha. I raced on of the neighbor hood kids with it he was on his bike, I lost control on some dirt and it slid into the kid he wiped out hard I felt soooo bad. He was ok and was laughing so it was all good. I did break a shock. Glad to here you won the drag race.
 
Thanks it was nothing big no trophy no hot babes no crowd but it was so sweet.

The funny thing is I always get people in cars that stop by and see what I got and how fast it can go stuff like that But the best thing is some guy in a honda tunner stopped by and was watching he thought it was awsome and he wanted one then I said it goes 40 and he said no way, I said, yes way so then I said I race real cars all the time and I always win. he just laught and asked what was my secret I just pointed to the speed limit sign it says 25.
