I want to put an 1/8 scale diff in the middle of my Maxx and ditch the tranny. Is that possible without having to modify my HCR pro Ti chassis? I use the stock 2.5 engine and want to keep it that way. So what do I do? Where do I start looking for parts? I need help!!!:loser:

yeah I got lost looking and went and looked at Ed's picture of his cat.:burp:

He's talking about this tranny

ok but I want info on a center diff does anybodt have any........please?

If I have to. Do the bulks except the diff? Do
I need to go all 1/8 diffs? can't I just do a center one?

thanks mayhem for putting up the pics. guess i should have given a little more on the info i was trying to provide. what I'm trying to turn you on to is the parts these guys make, and the plans they have for the future. they are not limited to the t/e maxx either.

if you where to get the OTB gearing, you will have a drop in tranny, and a very wide range of selectable gearing. plus the ability to use 1/8 scale gearing with the use of the strobe slipper.

if you chose the center diff, then your limited on your bell spure combo. majority of the guys running a supermaxx, or big block usually run 18/51, and even at that the gearing is brutal on the drive train.

Will it still kill my drive train if I use the 2.5 because I use 6 MIP shiny CVD's.

Let me be real clear what I am trying to do.

I want my T-maxx 2.5 with stock engine and all CVD's to use a center 1/8 scale type diff (maybe even a front biased one) this is for racing on a track. Is it possible?

no, mip's are fine with the 2.5, matter of fact you shouldnt even have a problem sticking with the stock slyders.

this I'm not sure of. 1/8 scale is typically big block.

what i do know, you can not run different diffs in the t maxx, you can not run a 1/8 scale diff in the front and stock in the rear, the gearing will not allow it. you will destroy the rear diff before you know it. you would be better off useing the stock diffs f/r.

to be honest with you, if your so set on running 1/8 scale drive train, you might as well just get a truck that is already set up to run it, like a dominator or a monster pirate.

but I like my maxx or I have spent too much to give up on it...I dont know which anymore!! kinda pissed off at it as I keep burning slipper spurrs and my mest is perfect and my engine is tight down. I think I have a bent shaft hehehe lets just take a moment to think about that..............ok I think the shaft is bent comming out of the tranny the the slipper spurr sits on. I think I am going an all metal tranny now. poop thats like another $200 when does the madness stop with the T-maxx ? I could have bought like three Mugen MBX5's by now!      Thats what I feel like latley with my Maxx!

the otb tranny is the last part of a bullet proof maxx, not to mention the selectable gearing. top speed run, or try pulling your buddys 1:1 car down the block to show off.

to say a maxx is a money pit is the centurys biggest understatement. this list
:write: constantly goes on. if you where to add up the price of everything:trashed: . its just insane.

i have 2 maxx's my self. one a 2.5 wich is going to remain stock for the most part. my other is a supermaxx project at this point is close to being a roller, 1 set of sm cvd's shy of being able to mount all 4 wheels.
i want to build a 3rd truck after my sm is built, and i think thats going to be a dominator. built to handle the 1/8 scale set up.

there are hop ups for everything rc, from mt's to the hpi micros. most can be converted to have a all aftermarket what ever.

what i have learned is you can run the 1/8 scale diffs witha stock tranny.

you would have to change your gearing to something around
66 tooth spur, and i think a 22 or 24 tooth cb.

you dont have a wide varity of gearing with 1/8 scale, stick with the 32 pitch. i see that kippster has put a 32 pitch extreme slipper set up. i would give a link for a pic but there is no pic.
