can i customize engine/transmissions?

Is it possible to change a single speed to a 2 or 3 speed transmission? its not a brand name truck. I know if it was a traxxis or hpi etc, all id have to do is to just buy a part and install it. That is not what I'm looking for. I want to maybe buy a 3 speed hpi tranny and adapt it to my ".18 GO Engine" .it can be anytype of tranny,,,I'm just wonderfing if anyone here has done this type of custom work before and what were the results?=devil

If you're good with tools, have a skill for mechanical figuring and have access to machinery, there's not much that CAN'T be done to these. Time and imagination.
