Compressed air, simple green/water and rinse with 50/50 Armor-All and water. That is the best I have found. A good stiff bristle brush helps too. Just be careful around your electronics.
Hi. Thanks so much for your reply and advice. The only thing is I'm not sure we can buy anything by the names of the products you said here in england. Any suggestions??

Simple Green has offices in the UK and a UK-specific website: http://www.simplegreen.co.uk/. There's a Where to Buy link on their website that can point you to stores which carry their products.
The reason Simple Green is recommended is it's a nice degreaser/cleanser that doesn't mess up plastics or metals so is very safe to use on RC's
You can also use electric motor cleaner. You can pick it up at any auto parts store and it works well and evaporates away completely. It will not harm your electronics unless you totally soak them...
Thank you to everyone who took time out to give me advice. I've seen some degreaser at my local pound shop its none toxic and can be used on anything like work surfaces, car engnes etc. Would this be ok for cleaning my nitro car??
