I have a question about the stock steering servo. I am currently in need of a temporary/back-up servo, and I want to buy the stock maxx servo as a cheap replacement untill I get my 625MG back from hitec.
Anyway...

1. Is it metal-geared?
2. If not, how does it hold up? I'd be using it for throttle in my savage or a 1/8 buggy.

Thanks very much in advance!

The servo you're referring to is the Traxxas 2055 high torque steering servo.

1. No, it is not metal gearing, it is plastic.
2. The servos hold up pretty well to normal use as a t/b servo.

IMO: not too good for steering.

No it is not metal geard, and It will hold up pretty nicly as a throttle servo. when use it as a steering servo it can become loose and their will be play in the gears. but it will be a decent throttle servo

Well, I bought one anyway, I got a killer deal of $9 brand new, just pulled out of a maxx from Bruce at rush rc, so I couldn't resist.

And, aml, where can I pick up a 2300 mah pack?
