Hey whats up guys I've always run byrons 33 rtr but have been thinking about switching to byrons race 3000 30/11. Has anybody used both? the rtr just seems to have to much oil and actually seems to make it more difficult to tune because of this. Also I think this will help out with the owb slipping. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys Joe

Are you happy with he performance you are getting out of the engine, remember when you switch to a fuel with less oil the engine will see more wear and shorter life on you piston and cylinder. I use Byron s RTR 20 Race Gen 2 it has 20% nitro and 16% oil. I run this in all of my nitro monsters and it seems to have the perfect blend. Have a good one...

Not true, it just reduces the "window" you have for tuning mistakes, it won't shorten the life as long as you have a good tune. The extra oil in RTR blends will allow a larger "safe" zone, this is really good for new people who are learning to tune. The downside to the extra oil is that it will steal a bit of the performance, and definitely add to the messiness of the nitro side of our hobby.

I made the switch and i find it easier to tune on the race 3000 i feel that the rtr had to much oil an it made it a little more difficult to tune.

It also runs cooler now as well

What I've gotten out of everything I've read on the fuels is that if your not great at tuning or a beginner use the higher oil content because you have a more forgiving tuning window. But if you can tune correctly your better off with 11 to 12 percent. Less messy, i also find that it runs cooler as well on the 30/11 vs 20/16

I always ran the 20-12 blend but switched to VP which I am liking more. The VP is 20-9 which seems to be perfect but I do see slightly higher temps of roughly 7 degrees. The VP is also half the cost of Byrons per gallon.

I'm thinking of switching to VP's 20-14 blend. I'm running tower hobbies fuel right now. The bottle was sealed and brand new but 5 yrs old. I'm having a hard time tuning with it and its really messy.

5 years old fuel, of coarse its gunna b hard to tune and messy, lol

Theres a few guys here that like the vp, I havnt tried it since the byrons works well for me

I run Byrons and VP (20% former and 30% latter). I like Byron's a little better, but my all-time favorite is Nitrotane--just cannot get it locally anymore. I'm surprised it's not more popular than it is--I ran it on nine different engines at one point and never had a problem with it.

Has anyone tried Werks? I just got a Nova Roma .25 and really want to try 25%. I don't like having to order fuel, but have heard so many great things about Werks I might try.

Man I used to get this trinity monster fuel I really liked back in the day, I dont think it's made anymore

Nope Hotrod Trinity Monster is disco, that's what I ran also back in the day. I absolutely love the Black ops fuel my LHS carries but is always sold out.

Ya I've been thinking about ordering a gallon of the ops, lots of peeps seem to speak highly of it, can't be found around me,...I remember the day I switched to trinity, that was the last time I ever ran trx fuel, the difference was night and day

+1 on the Blackops fuels

I've also been wanting to try the Ops fuels as well. I've heard nothing but good things about it; I'm just unsure of which one I want to try. I also ran Trinity at one point but now I've just been buying some RedMax fuel and it hasn't been the best tuning stuff to be honest. I remember how much better the trinity was than the TRX stuff. :whhooo: The difference was crazy awesome! :hehe:
