Buying help on a T-Maxx 3.3

Hi guys,
Finalized on a Tmaxx 3.3 after some research. I am getting it for 442$ from amazon.. probably the cheapest i found. Question is what else should i get?

1. I am new to the nitro business. What % fuel and How much fuel should I get considering i may hve to order online since the LHS may be expensive?

2. Amazon suggests an after run engine oil . I may get this as well, but just wanted the opinion from you guys.

3. Is there anything else, probably Tmx 3.3 specific that I should get?

1. Your local hobby shop (LHS) will probably have a better price on fuel than you will have on the internet after paying a relatively steep HazMat surcharge on shipping. I used Sidewinder Cool Power 20% fuel in my 3.3 and it worked great. Byron's is also is a good brand of fuel.

2. After Run Oil is a good idea when you have finished running for the day and intend to let it sit for more than a couple of days.

3. A good set of hex-drivers and nut drivers is a good idea. A small container of blue LocTite (I use #244 solid stick) to use on any metal to metal fasteners. A decent battery charger is a must. The one that normally comes with the trucks is not really that good. A fuel bottle is also a good idea as it allows you to refill the truck's tank as well as empty it when you're through.

air filter oil

i would suggest you buy some air filter oil, you should clean and re-oil your filter every hour of runtime, maybe some extra glow plugs. And mine came with the fuel filler bottle. an extra set of AA Batteries as mine died last night when i was out bashing and it doesn't give you much warning. good choice on the t-maxx I've had mine for two weeks and i love it!

Forgot about the air filter oil and extra glow-plugs. DOHHH! If your truck is set up to use AA alkaline batteries, ditch it and buy a good NiMH receiver pack (5-cell). Low batteries tend to give control problems when they get low.

A decent failsafe is also is a great idea. Traxxas says that the Opti-Drive included on the Revos is a failsafe, but it isn't. Go with a good one like a Venom or a Picco micro failsafe.
