What do you guys think.
Pro's and con's of the
XB8
And the
MBX5 Prospec...
I am having a hard time deciding witch one to get:ponder2:

I'm diggin my MBX5. I haven't had a chance to put it on a track and put it thru it's paces yet, but it handles like a dream. Turns on a dime, and the brakes are amazing. Just when you think you've set them too weak, they grab hard enough to lay skidmarks.

The overall assemby wasn't too overall bad. The shock tower part, however... I had to disassemble it slightly to correct that error. And the front brace; I nearly pulled a 'DEE-DEE-DEEEE' and forced it on. The instructions don't show the details like cut-outs and the like, so you have to use common sense.

Otherwise, my votes' for the MBX, but given a chance, I'm sure the XB8 is just as good.

The Mugen MBX5 Prospec is a real high quality kit. The build went very smoothly, and I have not had any real issues to speak of.. From what I've read, the XB8 is right up there in quality & function. Both have a big following.. It seems to be a driving style that seperates the two..

I'll agree with the guys above, the prospec goes together well! They also have new hub carriers out so you can turn sharper. My buddy's prospec turns like a 777.

I finished putting my Prospec together last week and have only driven it several times in the street to break in a new P5X. So far I like it, lol. Building the XB8, to me, was much easier. The instructions were clearer and all the parts for a particular step were all together. I was thinking about putting electronics and engine back into the XB8 so I could drive one right after the other to see what the differences are, even if it is just on asphalt. I think on the track though, the Mugen will fit my driving better. They both turn on a dime. It's just sad to see a stripped down XB8 sitting in the garage, while I'm startin' up the Mugen.

Just to play devil's advocate and throw some other options into the mix:

Hyper 8 came out today at Nitrohouse
Losi buggy comes out later this year

Hey bud...save your cash...we all know ur gonna when the lotto!!! LOL

My next buggy will be one of these 2 also. I will follow your thread and see how they are compared.

MBX5 or Hyper8... at least thats what I would do If I didnt already have 2 Kyoshos. Hey, Anyone wanna buy 2 Kyoshos so I can go by myself a MBX5?? lol

Also there are rumors that mugen will be releasing a new buggy sometime this fall. I'm not making this any easier am I?

I think you already know how much I LOVE my mbx-5 (almost prospec). Handles AWESOME. My first race EVER with it I came in second out of 8 and my wheel came off in the middle of the race!!! Thats definitally my pick. My friend has an xb8 thats pretty sweet, but I'm not sure if I like it as much. My vote is the mbx-5.

I saw a vid of the hyper 8 "prototype" and it SUCKED. I was really surprised. It might have been the driver though, who knowes. If you want i can try to find it for you... I'm not sure how many parts "changed" from then till now, but IMO it doesn't compare to the Kyosho, Mugen and Xray.

Jammin is also another option, but I'm SO anxious to see the new Losi buggy.

EDIT: btw, you're going to race it right?

I actually lucked out big time... Debbies RC World had 4 of the Prospec kits listed on EBay, when they first came out, for $619. 2 days after buying mine, their price jumped up to just over $700. I'll keep an eye out for a good price...

both kits are great, but for the price difference Id have to go for the xb8. Once the tq kits come out, theyll be over 100 cheaper than the mugen.

I don't care about the price....It is witch is better?
So far the mbx is winning..LOL
I like the looks of it and the feed back on it is good.
Now the xb looks good also but From what I have read or not read not much feed back on the xb?

Ok I have look at all my sites 700$ for the mugen
Is what I have found...
can any brother hook me up with a better price?
I am ready to buy.
