Yesterday my dad was driving his new SportMaxx around and I was across the street in a dirt lot. He flipped the truck and the pipe came off of the header and it was upside down. I started running towards it and it started to lean out, it was a good 30 feet away. When I got to it I couldn't pinch the fuel line so I put my finger over the header to kill it. I have a nice circular blister on the top of my index finger now.

I was wondering if anyone else has done this before?

I kill the engine that way as well if pinching the line is not possible. I don't get burned, then again ... years of working with my hands on a buffing machine has given me calouses on my fingers so I don't feel much on my finger tips.

Just a tip, I usually keep a painters brush with me for cleaning as well as another option to stop a car incase there's a runaway or even to just turn it off. All you have to do is hit the flywheel. On a monster truck, it's a little different since there's no easy access to the flywheel. Just keep a rag handy fo plugging the stinger and a tube of beosporin for your cuts or burns. ;)

I have a bandaged blister on my right index finger now, from trying to shut off my MT yesterday. I had a new body on, and couldn't pinch the line. I put my finger on the end of the MIP metal tuned pipe, and it wouldn't turn off because I had split a silicone muffler sleeve.
I used to have a rubber tip on it, but it disappeared during a rollover and I didn't know it was missing till I tried to shut it off yesterday.
