RC Driving Style
I just finished replacing all my a-arms with the RPM blue. You guys all said they were the best. After the curb shot that destroyed my stock ones, got me thinking. The bulkheads........... What is the best way to go???? I bent the bottom screws, or the long metel things that hold the lower a-arm in, but did not break the blukhead. Lucky??? I dont know. What is the thought Aabout aluminum?? And if this a frequently asked question, could someone point me to that post. Thanks, Kevrone
 
I prefer just to stick with stock bulkheads. Some people have had some really good luck with alum. bulkheads but they seem to pricey for me to take that gamble. And stock is very inexpensive. Unless RPM would make some.... Which unfotunately they have tried numerous times and have an inherant design flaw that will not allow it to work properly. Must be the nylon....
 
I have the Traxxas Alum bulkheads with RPM A-arms. That is the only aftermarket Aluminum I will put on my truck. The only other metal I used is I made a front Titaninum front skid plate. I got the alum bulkheads because they are a pain in the butt to change out. I have not had a problem with them since and my truck has lead a tough life. (Just ask NCNitro:cheeky: )
 
After a recent misadventure in the frozen tundra of central Virginia, I upgraded to aluminum bulkheads by Hardcore Racing.

They add weight (helps keep the front wheels on the ground for those with that problem). They add strength. BUT they do add cost should you find a way to smash them beyond use. Good thing about Hardcore Racing's set is that they will replace them free of charge if you manage to break them (another company acting like RPM).

As for performance, I can't say that they are any better or worse than the stock ones I had. I do know that they will not break due to extremely cold air and poor landing abilities :D

They were like $80 a pair. Tower Hobbies has them listed for $73.99 a pair.

WOW, I did not know that about hardcore. I may have to pick up a set next time I snap one (although I have 3 sets in my tackle box now, :) )
 
WOW that is alot! 150 skinnies. Well if you want play, you gotta pay. I will have to see if my l.h.s can hook me up with a set of those. Thanks guys for all the great info
 
The Hardcore replacement thing only applies to their bulkheads (from what I was told). I'll see if I can verify whether or not they cover their other products in the same fashion.
