is it bad is your piston is a little brown ?? was running the LSN a little lean becuse there was no smoke when it was idling and it went that colour. HSN is good though nice trail of smoke when you rev.

Shouldn't affect anything never has effected my performance

Light brown is not bad at all. If it was black ok maybe a problem. If the engine is running well has smoke and temps are good....hey no worries.

Actually Joey myself and several of my friends have noticed Byron's fuel, even the race blend leaves the piston black overtime. I have had to polish it off my Picco's piston several times. I went back to Sidewinder, just have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get it or pay the hazmat fees...

Have you tried the new Torco stuff yet Scrogg? All the locals here are raving about it....I'm still finishing off my last gallon of Byron's, but have 2 gals of Torce here waiting.

It sucks, sell it. Stick with the Byron's. I have a friend who is big time into drag racing 1:1 cars....He told me their fuel was crap, he was right. I switched from Byron's race to torco 30% one race day. As soon as I switched fuels, the engine ran hotter and hotter no matter what I did, eventually the bearings failed. It was purring like always beforehand.
I put new ones in, it still ran like poop. Lost 2 minutes of runtime, temps drasticallly higher and less power than Byron's or Sidewinder. I was getting Torco @ 20 bucks a gallon from a friend....I bought two gallons, sold the second gallon back to him. I'll drive to Carolina's RC and buy Sidewinder for 29 bucks a gallon before I touch that liquid poop Torco again. It cost me a race and 50 dollars worth of engine bearings. I do not recommend this fuel to anyone. Very poor quality.

Wow. Guys here are seeing LOWER temps and better running engines with it. Interesting....

what temp shouuld my engine be running at??its about 3degrees celcius here.

Every engine is different. When tuning, use temp as a guide, not a target. You want the engine running as crisp as you can get it while still producing a good smoke trail. This point is different for just about every engine, even 2 of the exact same model.

My Revo ran like crap until the temps were 280+, my Nova engine liked to be @ 250ish, my RB motor likes 230ish.

So I would say unless your quite a bit over 300 degrees....not too much to worry about as long as you're getting a good smoke trail out of it. Just pay attention to what the engine is doing, and read as much tuning information as you can out here. The temperature debate could go on for years ;-)
