Hello, I'm new to the Savage ranks! I have a Savage .21 that Has a Wasp .26 engine, HPI ribbed pipe, big air cleaner,Servo upgrade and new Diff gears.
I went to my first race over the weekend and had an absolute blast! I finished last each time! :)
OK now for my question, I want to have a Bronco body Pianted for my truck but one of the fellows I was racin with said that the Bronco bodies didnt jump well!.....Is this true?? I'm kind of a Ford Die Hard and am going to have 2 bronco bodies made up (one to bash and one to show)
I guess this is a silly question but how does an areodynamically challenged body affect jumps? and isnt the truck its self a brick flying through the air?
He was using a Jeep CJ8 body, me a OE savage Body (BTW it flew like a bird)
I'm still going to have the Bronco bodies painted (can't help myself) but I'm curious if what I was told is fact?
Sorry if I'm beating a :deadhorse

Not really true. It's mainly in the shock setup. If you were on an airport runway with identical cars in a LONG straight race, the streamlined one would eventually pull ahead of a 'square' body.
The Jeep body isn't very different from the Bronco, so get what you want. It has no effect on jumping. He probably saw a Bronco body on a car that just wasn't set up correctly, or the driver didn't know how to make good jumps.
Throttle or brake in the air makes a difference as to how the car lands. Not what body is on it.

Thanks Rolex, can't wait to clip the bronco body on! This Savage is sick with the Wasp.26 engine. can't wait for my second race!.....LOL I guess i need to learn some control :n00bie: Then I can get that Buggy and really rip!

/me looks for a chance to savotage scotts truck

lol :) That was a blast Saturday, we were both new to the track (and racing in general) but I can tell once you get a handle on that truck I'll regret ever introducing you to this hobby LOL!

Just as Rolex said, in a race like we were at Saturday, one body would not have given you a advantage over another. Heck talk about pushing a brick through the air, try that '72 chevy I was drivin' and still got into the A main. Course I ran out of fuel... but we'll blame that on Matt :) lmao
