my shifting servo broke from the screws and now the truck wont burst off the line like it used to. reverse wont engage either.

is this cause the servo is broke or have i ruined the shift gears? transmission still kicks into 2nd gear and only has a burst of speed at a certain speed then it drags and goes noticably slower than before.

does anyone have a step by step diagram of whats (broken) wrong and what do i need to fix it and how much will it cost for some new gears? any particular brand i need to get or go with whats in the truck?

i just replaced the front bulk and skid plate yesterday.

tear apart the tranny and have a look. You wont know unless you look. It might just be tuning.

the whole transmission? holy shizzle. it was taking a minute to catch and then it would go. it wont go into reverse. i was having to give it a push and then it would take off.

what should i be looking for?

it was spinning the tires in reverse yesterday, but not spinning them in forward.

how hard is this to replace. is it the clutch?

is the shifting servo suppose to be a 2018?

If you are having a problem with the shifting serve, DO NOT run the car. If it is not engaging the gears properly, that's when you'll break teeth in the trans.
Replace the servo. You already know there's a problem with it. When that's been replaced, and adjusted properly, that's when you see if it now works right, and shifts correctly, or if there's another problem in the transmission.

thanks roley your real helpful on this forum. i'll have to wait and see whats going on when 21Rc10GT sends me a servo.

okay i got that servo switch to a fresh one. it takes off very slow and then it kicks in hauling ass. why isn't it burning the tires off the line? do i need to make an adjustment inside the hole on top of the transmission and how to do so?

Are you hearing it shifting? If not, it's taking off in second gear, and that's why it's a slow start. Driving it, stuck in second will also super heat your clutch bell and it will start to slip till it can't move at all, even though the engine revs. It needs to cool down at that point.
First I need to know if you hear it shift. If you don't, then I'll tell you how to adjust it.

yes it shift into 2nd, and thats when it burst with speed

it is slow on the take off.

no i hear it shift from first to second. it is sluggish on the take off. could it be the way the carb is adjusted?

That was going to be my next suggestion, if it reacts the same way in reverse.
The LSN is set a bit too rich. Once the car gets off the line, the HSN takes over on WOT.

doesn't reverse. it idles smooth the way it is set I'm in southern cali. it about 50 degrees here.

It doesn't have reverse? Or it won't go into reverse? I thought it had, from your first post. If it has reverse, but won't go in, you haven't gotten the new servo and linkage adjusted properly yet.
That still doesn't mean it's not a LSN problem on take off though.
It DOES have reverse, right?
Will it go INTO reverse?

it does have reverse but it wont go into reverse. i switch the broken servo to the throttle and jammed a stick in it for the time being. i put the good 2055 servo into the shifter.

when i put it in reverse it still goes forward.

That's not a good idea. Now you run the risk of a WOT runaway with a bad servo to the throttle.
You really need to replace the shift servo first, and put back the correct throttle servo.
Then you need to properly adjust the linkage till it goes into forward AND reverse. Until that's been done, the problem can't be taken care of the right way. If you are trying to make it run, when things are wrong, you'll be looking for transmission gears next.
These trucks are pretty much technical marvels, and the old Duct Tape repairs are not a good choice.

i have the throttle jammed pretty well jumped it around and everything was still together. is it maybe the adjustment in side the hole of the transmission housing?

We can't even THINK about adjusting the shift point till I know that the servo is right, the linkage is right, and it's shifting from forward to reverse.
When that's done, we'll go to the next step.
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Just an update on this. You say you hear it shift, so you know it's going from 1st to 2nd. If it's doing that, then there's no need to adjust the shift point.
If you get the linkage adjusted for forward/reverse, and it does the same thing, then it's a tuning issue.
If it's sluggish getting started, lean the LSN 1/16 of a turn in. If it improves, but it's not great, do it another 1/16 turn in.
