Hey all I have been trying for days on end trying to get my T-Maxx running I have had lots of help from some very helpfull people on the forum but no luck. I think I have found the problem the slider inside my carb has the normal opeinng for air flow but near the side closest to the mixture screw there is another opening/crack I'm almost sure it not supposed to be there and thinking it is messing with air flow and in turn keeping me from getting this thing tunned I'm getting VERY frustrated I have had it for 3 months bought it used and have driven it mabe 15 minutes  here is a pic of my carb the red arrow point to what I'm conserned about. If it is broken does anyone have a carb they would want to part with it a older .15 TRX motor thanks.

Looks to me like that's the slot in the throttle body that the idle stop screw rides in. From the looks of it, you have the idle set waaaaaaay too low. You should have a 1mm opening at the top while at idle. If you have the idle set in that area, you probably won't see the other thing. Oh, and it doesn't really go through the carb, so that in and of itself is probably not causing ill-running.
To reset your idle, open the throttle and turn the idle stop screw a bit clockwise. Then release the throttle and there should be a 1mm opening. That should get your engine running and idling. Then you have to tackle the next matter. Adjusting the needles. Let us know how you make out.

I think you should open your idle screw. When you open your idle, that other gap should close.

The idle gap seems to be too small.

Ok cool I was messing with it and that is why its so small of an opeing I can get it to run just wont stay running
