I continued my break in yesterday for my Zilla and was up to 9 tanks when I tried opening up (pumped it) and it popped a wheelie. Flipped and broke a piece off my cylinder head about a 1/3 piece of the first layer of the cooling head.

I was wondering if I can use an epoxy weld on it. This is an issue that I think will be an ongoing problem with the .46 because the head is just too big and not a lot you could do to protect it. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

man, i keep scratching my stock savage 25 head.. makes me mad.

this post didnt help at all

head "roll bar"

You know...I can't believe that someone has not come up with a basic roll bar just to go over the head. Simple, cheap and lightweight...bolts to the frame or heck it could even attach to the rear body mount....Aluminum, plastic...hey we are easy. You CNC boys listening??

Zip Tie the heads. It acts as a protective barrier. I change mine out every month or so. They have saved my heads so often. Just my .02

I used zip ties, in fact I had 6 big ones on it. It helped for the first 2 flip overs. The side flip was the one that actually broke 1/3 of the first layer of the head. I guess because with the Truckzilla conversion my truck now weighs close to 20 lbs. My other solution is buy a body that will cover the engine as well.
:classic:

Zip ties

The zips dont last long with me either....I guess I could stay off the half pipes.

Does anyone know if the .46 motor has a low end needle on it that can be adjusted or is it not adjustable?

It has a low end needle and is adjustable, although I would not recommend touching it much. It actually has low, mid and high speed needles.
;)
