Is it bad to start breaking in an engine, then stop.

For ex., I'm going along about half way through break in, and "bam", tranny died. I have to order parts that won't be here until next wk.

Reason being, I"m getting a new motor, and I haven't driven my RC in about 2 months now. I just want to break in and do casual driving, no bashing or racing.

Not particularly, no. There should be periods where the engine is allowed to cool down between break in tanks. There is nothing that says that cool down period must be ten to fifteen minutes. Heck, it could be a week, a month, or a year (not recommended). The bottom line is that you must get the engine up to operating temps and then let it cool. This is called heat cycling and it allows the internals to get used to working together.

So no, a couple of days or weeks won't hurt it.

yeah, like sky said it wont do nothing to the engine. but, i might go and put a little after run oil in it tho if it is goign to be sitting for more than 3 or 4 days.
