Can I use the pullstart for the break-in process? I'm just wondering about the compression of a brand-new engine. I really don't wanna use my EZ Start, but I guess I will if I have to.

I know that some engines actually come with a pullstart on them, so I'm guessing it's no big deal, yea? :)

You'll be fine with a pull start.
Might wear you down depending on the motors compression. :p:

Thanks, I figured that to be the case. Although much easier on the fingers, that EZ Start is properly annoying when the battery dies. I realize with a new engine it probably won't take three days to start, like it did with the other two, of which one was verified to be blown, and the other surely leaks hahaha.

Pull start it is! :)

Boo to the pull start. Why walk when you can ride. DOWN WITH PULL STARTS!!!!:)

EZ start is prone to failing, it's heavier thatn a pullstart and more expensive to replace when it dies. And you can wreck the wire that attaches to the GP in a rollover, plus pullstarts are easy to fix!! :)

I've always had nothing but trouble with the EZ start systems.. They are junk. Plus you get more of a "feel" for the motor with a pull start, IMO.

When i had a nitro, my pull start broke becuase of how much i had to pull it to get the thing started. It would usually take me 10 minutes to get started. Till it broke.

that it's only because of poopy engine or bad tuning (engine get too mush fuel when pull start is pulled so it gets flooded and hard to pull...)

when my 2.5 is in tune and has nice room temperature 20C' it start from first pull after prime, pull start only pulled about 20-25 cm and with no problem it starts every time,I only have some trouble when the engine is damn cold but that happens to everyone.

that's true

I don't date my T maxx......Yet. Been using my easy start all winter with no problems. Tune your engine right and it should start in about 3 seconds. My ez start motor has never even gotten warm.:first_place:

but EZ start takes some much weight and needed space...
pull starts are just perfect when taken care after, roto starts are perfect as well but you got to carry the drill and batterie for it plus an glow plug starter....

Right -- I like things as simple as possible. Pullstarts are light, designed with as few moving parts as possible, and there is nothing to look after or charge or worry about the night before you go bashing.

Also, as someone mentioned, you can "feel" what the motor is doing much better than with the electric starter. :)

that's true, you can feel how much compression engine has.

Thats true, it was a off-brand. I payed £160 for it had it for about a month broke the pullstart and sold it for £45. Thats why i use electric now. I know that if i bought a good make nitro it would probably be fine. But because of the bad experience i dont think that i will go nitro again.

are you electric?
I'm thinking of doing an conversion of my Revo 2.5 into brushless with same motor and esc that powers an Savage Flux with two lipos :whhooo:
that would be a beast...

IT RUNS!!

First tank of the break-in process is gone, and it runs and drives like a champ! wOOt! :)

SO much easier when it works right LOL! Two pulls and it fired off, and idles beautifully. I'm running it at 4 turns out on the HSN as per the manual, but I'm getting quite a bit of fuel on the back tire hahaha. Better rich than lean right now, though. :)

....AAAAAAAAND I broke it. These things HATE walls...

Going to the LHS today to see how much this one is taking out of my wallet :). I am itching to complete the break in process. :)
