finially breaking in the lrp motor. off to the mall parkinlot at 7am. decided to do a variant of all the different type breakins. started right up, idled high, had to do some linkeage/servo adjustments. 2 second 1/4 throttle runs and a full stop then 2 second 1/4 throttle and full stop, ect ect. to engine temp of 210, ran 3 min at that temp, shut motor down and cool to 100 or so. ran this way through a quarter gallon.

tomorrow will do another quarter gallon of the same as it got too warm n humid for the driver

hehe especially in this area. driver tuning issues can lead to blown gaskets the way its been here for the last week

a good finely tuned driver is important when breaking in a new motor. my inner temp was about 8k degrees at 9 when i stopped breakin. inner polar icecap was melting!

day 3

upto 3/4 gal through lrp. half throttle runs for 10-15 seconds. still a little tight at TDc with plug out. temp ok i think, still runnin around 200-220 i think. cheapo hpi temp gun puked out right away this mornin. tomorrow morning i hope to get last of this gallon through. then will start running like i own it.

on a side note....was messin with another truck in shop and needed stuff outa my travel case. put new Xl on tailgate and toolbox. got what i needed and went back inside shop. 3 hrs later i needed to go downtown. totally forgot about truck and toolbox on tailgate. hahaha drove all the way cross town (4 mile or so) did my business, got almost home before i realized my stuff was on open tailgate. truck and toolbox rode the whole way there and the 2 jugs of notro didnt evan roll out!!!!!! damn imma good driver muahahahaha!::first_place:

Hi biifft_t,
With that kind of luck, you may soon be hit by lightning, twice!
Then you may go purchase some lottery tickets...

+1 Good deal on the excellent driving skills, way to go!

Good thing you don't throttle your truck, like we mostly all do the RC vehicles...

Starting breaking my lrp.32 today and it kept flooding out after bout 3 min into idle temps were getting around 200 that quick. Finally when got to bout half full i decide i would just burp it around a little and it still kept flooding itself and running around 195. Is it safe to begin leaning the engine on the seccond tank wit temps like that. I'm assuming its flooding cause I'm getting lots of fuel from pipe when its sitting still.

Did you check to make sure your needles are at factory specs, some times they are not that's why the instructions say to make sure before starting the motor.if they are at spec lean it a bit until it runs, I don't that would hurt it.

i have broken in 4 motors in the last few weeks. you want the temps around 200 degrees for a good breakin by all the research i have done. and you can lean a bit to get truck to run decent. just dont run temps too hot at the start. over 210. more fuel you put through a nitro motor, the cooler it gets. richer=cooler leaner=hotter
