Break In Temp????

I recently purchased a T-maxx 3.3 #4908 and the instructions say don't break-in or run the vehicle in temperatures below 45 degrees, Is this a golden rule or is this a manufactuerer recommendation. I've seen tons of videos of T-maxx's and other Nitros being run in snow and worse weather.

Break in is the most crucial time to keep temps where they belong. I'd follow the instructions. There's ways around it. Wrap the head with tin foil or a baby sock. You have to be real careful with the temps during break in, though. If you damage the engine going against what trx recommends, you'll void any type of warranty and they will be a lot less willing to help out with a new engine.

Some folks cut up an bicycle innertube and wrap the head in that. I would say to be careful, because it would totally suck to wait an entire winter to play with your truck LOL!

Yeah go with Matt's advice. As for a temperature try for anything between 190 - 210 F.

The break-in is the most critical part of your engine's life. If your's is brand new I wouldn't risk it. I like playing in the snow with my trucks but I won't do a cold weather break-in for it.
