Hey guys,

I'm currently typing this from my phone, I'm out breaking in a new trx pro .15 nitro sport. I read traxxas break in instructions, it says to stay below 300 deg though it does not say what a good temp would be. Its currently aprox 65-70 deg out and I'm avrging a temp of 268. I have leaned factory settings about 1/4 turn as manual instructed. Just looking to double check with you guys to see if this sounds normal.

Well 268 is still in the safe zone but I would like it a bit cooler than that personally. How many tanks are through it so far?

Ya just stay under 300. I've had pro .15's run at 260 and some run at 180 using the same fuel/tune with no rhyme or reason. They will run hot during break in because of friction but as the parts wear together it will cool down. try to run it as cool as possible. cooler running engines last longer.

Oddly to get this engine to not stall out on full throttle, I had to richen the HSP 1/4, and After a There and back speed run, its still running at 290, though the temp drops back to down to 200 quickly. Its ran through 5 tanks so far

WOW... I always thought 200 to 220 . 240 would be the most i would ever let a new engine break in at. The sleeve and pison is not supposed to get very hot. But like i always say this is just MO.

No no jnjritz Its broken in Now, During break in it was only running at about 220 - 240. Though Now It tends to run quite hot on there and back sprints, and its 1/4 turn Richer on the hsn, I'm taking it now to try and sort out the heat issues.

Hey I was just searching through traxxas knowledge base and happended upon this little piece of info.

If you are using a digital temperature gauge, the Pro.15 tuned for performance runs in the range of 300° to 320° F.

So I guess My Peak temperature hitting 290 is completely regular. For this engine. I can't wait to throw a 2.5 or 3.3 in it though.
