break in problems

I idoled it on a box for 3 mins then let it cool for 10 mins I did this for 3 tanks, then I tried idoling it for whole tanks then after about 5 mins of idling it starts running very erratically then cuts out 1 min later, so i restarted it then finnished the tank after it stoped again in exactly the same way, then i started to do figure 8's on 1/4 throttle on the straights and it stopped in the same way the same ammount of times, is it ok if it stops like this and why does it do that,( SH28 p3, 10% nitro with 20% synthetic oil, 125cc fuel tank)
would it be because the fuel is low in nitro and high in oil, running very rich and doing low revs so the medium plug can't glow hot enough to ignite the fuel and keep it running

Your better off driving it to break it in you need air flowing to cool the engine you probally overheated it you may have toasted the plug if not the engine try a new plug and see what happens .A steady rpm can set up harmonics and distroy an engine you want to throttle up and down .:whhooo:

First off with only 10% nitro you need a hot plug,second,I agree with w bill that idling for long periods really isn't a good thing for a new engine but if you go that route you have to blip the throttle periodically to clear out the excess fuel from the rich break-in carb settings. And lastly,depending on engine temps reached,you may need to lean the engine a little to maintain an idle for longer periods of time.

I've done 6 tanks and are up to the 1/2 throttle part of the break in but when i throtte down or turn right it just cuts out I've tried leaning it but i dont want to go too lean because I'm breaking it in and then it has trouble starting

Just bump your idle speed up to keep it running. When I break in my engines I always use a medium-high idle to keep it chugging. Leaning it is bad news if you start leaning it too early. Just keep it running anyway that you can without leaning it too much.

motogod i tried increasing the idle a little bit it improved the revving down but it still stalls when i turn right after about 5 corners of a fiqure 8
I'm going to go with racer 1966 with the hot plug because I'm on a meduim which is meant to bu run with about 20% nitro so i think once it gets to a certain temp it wont ignite the fuel I'm going to finnish the 7th tank on the 10% then change to 20% and slowly increase the revs to get it used to the new fuel does that sound ok? because i have heaps of 20% and no hot plugs
