Just got finished breaking in my new Maxx (boy, it really was fun ), but after the third tank I was having an issue where the engine would just cut out for no reason. With the 4th and 5th tank, during break-in, I think it happened maybe 4 times, so no big deal, but it did happen.

My neighbor (oddly enough) is having the exact same issue with his already broken-in Maxx, so I figured Id ask for his sake and mine.

It seems that it only happens during slightly hard breaking when coming out of a turn, although one time I had it happen after coming to a stop after turning out of a turn.

Any ideas would be appreciated!!!

Check your linkages very carefully with the airfilter removed.
Make sure that when the brake is applied, its not closing the carb anymore than it is at an idle. I've had this issue before, and actually purposely set it tat way on a Nitro Drag car to basically shut it down at the end of a pass. Hope that helps...
 
Just checked with everything on the bench, and the carb does not move when hitting the break.

Any other ideas? I havent tried tuning the engine for performance yet, and I dont think I want to until I can get this issue resolved (unless the resolution is to tune the engine for performance :) ).

thats what I was thinking. There should be tons of smoke coming out of the engine now. Lean it a little bit.
 
Actually, outside temp and humidity were perfect for break-in day :) (I got lucky).

About 80-85, humidity was actually low to normal.

But it might just be because its too rich now anyway...........I also noticed that as the break-in progressed, it seemed that each tank of fuel lasted a little longer than the previous. I assume thats because the engine is becoming looser? Maybe theres just too much fuel getting in there now.

Heh, that I know!! I guess what I should be asking now is if a rich fuel mixture would cause an issue like the one I'm having.

Other than that, I'm happy with the truck so far............but I'm about to run the 6th tank which seems to be taboo for the TRX2.5. I wonder if its just coincidence thats when people start tinkering with the engine ;)
