My breaks stay on even when in neutral....even when I turn the truck off they stay on....what could be doing it? plus my spur gear looks as if it is warped or something.....anybody have these problems...?

Ok sounds like TWO problems.

Brakes can be adjusted by the "dial" on the linkage. back it out a little and check till you have the slack you need and the tires spin freely.

Be sure to make sure that there is nothing obstructing the movement prior to doing this.

Spur Gear. Is it misshaped? How does the pinion look like? Is the engine mounted properly?

Let us know

Since this is in the Tmaxx forum, I guess it's a T, and they don't have a dial to adjust the brakes. You need to make a mechanical adjustment. The linkage that goes to the brake servo has collars with set screws. You have to adjust it there. Before you start making adjustments, check the trim adjustment on your radio. Turn the trim all the way down to Zero. If you have the trim set to maintain your idle, you need to adjust your idle setting.
Do you have a computer radio? If so, it's just a matter of going to the menu and adjusting your servo travel end points.

The wobble in the spur is not a problem. There seems to be a slight warp in a lot of the Traxxas spurs, but the mesh is the same all the way around. My stock spur was like that, and it lasted me almost 2 years.

Hmm Mine has the dial. Are you sure?

the break linkage does not return to it neutral positon when the break is released...

jon2, you have a Tmaxx with a dial for brake adjustment? A Tmaxx?

Bobcat, remove the servo horn, turn on the radio and reciever. Center the servo, center the horn, then readjust the throttle and brake linkages.
Once more, do you have a computer radio, or is it the stock Traxxas Tx?

Ok I am sorry the stock 2.5 set up has the little collars but I added the little dials so I could manually adjust the amount of pressure for brakes. Lol

Looked stock to me. I haven't ran that thing in months. Lol

Sorry Rolex

jon2.....Who makes it, and where did you get the dial setup? I have a computer radio, so I don't need it, but I'd like to pass that idea along to the ones with the stock radio. I worked on a guy's Savage today, and adjusting the brakes with the dial is a great idea.
