Hey guys, listen up. I have a BIG HUGE problem with my buggy's brakes. First of all are BRAND NEW and second one they are not addicted to oil or something oily. When i'm running in high speeds when i'm going to stop (pull brakes at max) the buggy is going to stop 20 metres far away from the point i gave the order. What is going on? Are there ways to solve that problem. Can i do something with my brakes?

The pic is very blury, but I can try and help.

The little levers that tie the break cam to your servo are typically adjustable. If you need more stopping power you can adjust them. In or out, if you make the little lever shorter you will make the action faster, but if your servo is not strong enough you will not stop very fast. The same is true if you make it too long and the throw of your servo is not enough.

So basically you need to find a happy spot for your breaks.

also check your endpoint adjustment on your radio maybe its not going far enough. also what type of a break are you running the typical metal rotor with fiber pads? if you are running those the next time i would highly recommend the avid indo's phenolic brake rotor they resist oil and fuels and have little break fade if any
 
My servo is the FUTABA 3003 and the brakes are that with metal rotor with fiber pads. I think is me servo. Is not strong enough but tell me more about the indo's phenolic brake rotor. It requires space. If yes i can't add it because the buggy (MP777) is somehow not "spaceable". I try yesterday one idea of mine. I add paper where the metal rotor and the metal of the servo are touching when i'm braking. I hope you understand of that because i not.

the servo your running i assume your running it at 6 volts and that would be around 56 once torque that should be fine. I run the hitec 325 hb and there only 51 once of torque and it locks the breaks up just fine. but i did have the same problem as you before i switched to the indo's.
 
It may be possible that you have high speed glaze on your brake rotor. Scuff it up a bit will fix it if there is any glaze on it.
 
sounds like you just need to adjust the brake linkage....don't forget when you adjust the brakes to turn your radio on so you are making adjustments from where the servo sits at neutral....You'd hope a new set of SP1 brakes wouldn't be glazed after a few test runs......I would get a better servo for the brake/throttle control...I know sly seems to have awsome luck with the stock electronics but I haven't met anyone else who does...the 3003 has plastic gears thatr will get destroyed very easily....A hitec 625MG would be the budget upgrade servo to look at....
 
I found about the Futaba S9025 or something. Is very strong as i read. It's 0.11 sec fast and 7.1 Kg strong. I think is the strongest for that dimensions. But unfortunately its price is hot. 72 euro and i don't know if it's each one. Jeez...
 
No that the post is old, but i didn't want to make a new one on the same subject. We discuss that and we decided that the problem might be into the pedals. Since now, i didn't change them and i am planning to put a digital servo if you read the "Analog and gigital" thread. So, if i do that, MAY my problems gone by with that way?
