Yes i said it my stock savage 25rtr only 10 tanks gone through and the brakes didn't work so i adjusted the trottle on the servo but nothing then i looked under and i saw that the brake disk wasn't moving with the driveshaft when the truck was moving, the Brake disk hub had rounded off, i'm not sure why or how?

Although the brake disk is still in tact it just dosen't grip it,
Could it be a manufactures defect?
Could i claim it under warranty cause i wasn't miss treating it?
I think this could be a common problem with the savage because my t-maxx has an alloy brake disk hub Standard!, so why haven't hpi sorted this?

Sim I haven't heard of this being a big problem with the savage honestly. I got a savage 21 used and the guy had about a gallon through it and the brake hub was not a problem. It could have just been a weak plastic part is all. You could claim it under warranty I am almost sure of it. Or you could get the new part for like $6.00 or even better you could take this opportunity to upgrade to the dual brake disc setup from either hot bodies or HPI. I usually tend to buy a replacement part than send the warrantied part to HPI and have them send me a new one rather than lose a bunch of down time with the truck.

I just replaced my brake disc and shoes as the one that came with my truck had started to round off. It's quite possible that the plastic on your hub was too soft allowing for the disc to wear the corners off the hub. My hub was fine however in the future I plan to upgrade mine to an alloy unit along with a better disc and shoes. I would call hpi and tell them about it as they're pretty good about taking care of their customers.

I had the same problem with my savage ss. I 'm not sure how it happened but it was pretty much a cicle after i figured it out.

The two bolts holding the shoes in place could be loose allowing the disc to move off the hex on the out drive of the tranny. thus allowing extra wear. I had to tighten mine up

My friend has done this with two brake hubs on his new savage. He just upgraded to the dual disc kit with the steel brake hub and should never have the problem again. The thing that causes this is:
1) heavy truck
2) speed
3) good brake grip
4) crappy plastic piece that should have been aluminium/steel in the first place.

Trust me on this one just replace the hub with a metal replacement and you should be fine. Those fiberglass discs are amazingly strong.

Yeah, I had that happen to me too. When I changed my brake disk after having my 8 port, I rosted the brake hub in like 3 minutes. It's since been replaced and I haven't had a problem.

Although, I do plan on getting an aluminum or titanium one sometime. That way, i'll never encounter the problem again.

You know I spoke too soon in my earlier post because today my hub rounded off and my new brake disk warped. I couldn't believe it when I broke my truck back down and looked at it. I ended up ordering the hpi dual disk kit from tower to replace it.

Mine did the same thing after I swapped the throttle/brake servo to a stronger one.I've been using the GPM alloy hub but it too is slowly wearing out and will need to be replaced shortly.I may get the integy hub this time or the HB hardened one.

Hmm, I have the HPI dual brake disc and it comes with a metal brake hub. I tried using the GPM extended hub but no such luck. The hpi rotors are not able to accept the large hub. HPI has their own little hub for it and it works fine. If anyone is going to purchase the HPI dual brake set it is well worth the money. IMHO my truck will now stop with no problems what so ever and I am using the stock SF1 servo for now. I will soon be getting a high torque servo and flipping the SF2 servo around.

well i have replaced the stock plastic one with another plasic one but then a strange thing happened?

It stripped again!! i put it all back together and my brakes worked fine for a few seconds then when i tried to brake again it didn't stop, when i put the screws that hold the brake pads on the bottom one was slightly stripped? so i've put thread lock on it to keep it in there but...

when i try to brake (with the truck not running,) i see that the servo dosen't go far enough into the brake position to brake and when you apply the brakes the pads are ment to grip the brake disk but it dosen't, the silver metal piece that the servo moves to operate the brakes dosen't apply the brakes, i'm thinking has this silver rod thing come out of something so the brakes don't work?

I'm just saying that if i get an aluminium brake disk hub i don't think it will solve the problem?(sorry for the long post)
