My T-Maxx 3.3 for some reason is bogging down in second gear, but runs just fine other wise. Anyone know what it is?
 
Does it bog down or cutout? If its cutting out then you need to richen the hsn. I dont think the lsn would have anything to do with it bogging in second because the lsn is for take off and acceleration once your in second its all about the hsn.

+1....my bad, I meant to type hsn....wasn't quite awake this morning. Lack of coffee and morning nitrotalk news......;)
 
mine does it too temps are at 230 its something wrong in the tranny. I'm thinking its the timing screw used to set when it shifts into 2nd but I'm not too sure. All I know is mine is something in the trani but I never bothered messing with it. I'm not a Traxxas fan anymore because once I had a trani problem the first time, I kept on having more and more problems with the trani and I dont really want to mess it up more. It seems to me once a Traxxas product has a certain problem, it never leaves and when you think its fixed it comes back. For your sake I hope its your tuning my T-Maxx is 5 years old now so my issue might just be wear and tear as well. Good luck
 
I have both a T-MAXX3.3 and a SAVAGE4.6 they are each great trucks!! But the T-MAXX does require a bit more maintaining.
 
Yeah they like to operate in the 270-290 range. At least mine does any way really likes it at 280-285 it rips!
 
My 2.5 likes 300, but he doesn't get it too often.:) 280-290 hasn't seemed to hurt it any. It was half shot a gallon and a half ago. Still seems to be about half shot.
 
It only bogs after it warms up. I don't have a temp gauge, so I can't tell you the temps, sorry

I haven't had a chance to check it yet, hopefully this week end
 
Put a drop of spit on the head after it's warmed up. Should take 3-4 seconds to sizzle off. If it sizzles immediately, It's lean. If it doesn't evaporate, it's rich. Do the pinch test to check the lsn as well. After a high speed pass. Come to a stop and let it idle for a second or two. Then pinch the fuel line as close to the carb as you can. It should take between 3-4 seconds before it revs and dies. Sooner, it's lean. Longer, it's rich.
