I started to take some stuff off my truck to do some cleaning, like the engine. Prior to the cleaning i was able to hit 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear fine when i hit the gas. Now hitting the gas *almost* making it to 3rd, it bogs and then slows down, but it doesn't die. What the hell? Did i mess something up while i was taking it apart. (I took off the engine, gas tank, opened the gear box)

Also, the whole time that I've had the XL i havent been able to make it do any wheelies?? I even tightened the slipper clutch or is it the spur gear or whatever its called all the way and then turning it half a turn back, so that more power will go to the wheels. No wheelies.. =/

Actually backing you slipper off will take away power....sounds like you loosened it. Also how is your temps when running? Real high? Could you be running too lean? How much smoke you getting? If you are getting tons and low temps you could be too rich. Give us some more info and folks will get you hooked up.

Well your slipper clutch shouldnt be tightened all the way right? Turned a half turn back from being tightened all the way right? And for my temps, i always try to keep it under 250 degrees. Its decently tuned, but no wheelies. It seems like i got a defective truck or something.

Did you break it in properly? Have you checked your glow plug? I've had the same question about my Revo. Turned out I needed a new plug and a good tune. Wheelies great now.

sounds like you maybe too lean,(as in starving for fuel). the out side temp will greatly affect your tune, try going back to factory setting than lean out 1/8 turn at a time, now to the wheelies 95% of the hpi trucks run fine on the hsn adjustment only, but every once in a while you may need to adjust the low speed needle, again (small incraments) .. in the winter you will most certainly have to run richer, than summer. its just the nature of the beast.and if your having trouble keeping your head temp up, try using a simple sweat band around the head, it works wonders.
