I want to put a platinum body on my 2.5 and I am wondering if there are any huge problems doing this. I am guessing that if I line up the tank hole I can mark and put all the other holes in the correct place. Will there be a ton of issues with the wheel wells? Has anyone else done this?

they make pleanty of good looking after market bodies out there for the 2.5 to go through all the cutting and fitting and drilling to get the 3.3 body to fit.

I'm not 100% sure that it will fit, bit i would think not. wait for one of the gurus to come around and give you a definite answer

The platinum's wheelbase is much longer than a stock 2.5.

I'm sure you can trim it to work, but who knows what it will look like when you are done.

Have you taken a look at the JConcepts Illuzion bodies that fit the 2.5?

i got the proline croud pleazer 2.0 and it looks great. and its very strong.... .060 lexan bodies are great.

and those illusion bodies are also really good lookers too.

If you install the Traxxas extended rear arms, the fit of the Platinum body would be a little better.

I'm thinking there's going to be a huge difference in wheelbase and it will look like crap. Now you could just go with a 3.3 chassis and it should line up better. There's a plain 3.3 chassis that's brand new in the classified section, as well as a really sick brand new carbon fiber chassis. I'm also going to have a really sick brand new custom airbrushed body (crowd pleazer 2 I think) that will be for sale soon, and it will fit the 2.5 chassis. I think that bodies look awful when the wheels are not centered under the wheelwells, and i think there are better options if you want to keep the short chassis. If you want to extend it, my Vantage chassis comes with the extended chassis, under armor, and center CVD's so it's a bolt on without having to buy the other parts seperate.

Rob knows the revos much better than I do, and I don't know how close the extended arms will put the wheels under the wheelwells, but if it's not just about exactly the same length I think it's going to look goofy.

I thought of upgrading to the 3.3 chassis for a few extra $$$. Just don't have a few $$$ for it now. That said I love the platinum body! Something about the rounded cab with the air intake at the top just does it for me. I will take another look at the Illusion and Crowd pleazer bodies but I want to make the platinum work...
