Hi guys

I dont have a body for my savage, i dont want anything fancy cause i just like to bash and end up on my top most of the time, what do you guys recommend? I'm also going to get a roll cage at some point so would be good if it was a body that would fit over that.

Thanks guys.

What bodies fit over a roll cage depends on the cage you use.

I have a couple of unpainted bodies I'd sell. One is a monster firetruck by Parma and one is a early 50's truck from Axial. I have the masks and decals for the firetruck but not for the 50's truck. Also the Axial is made from thinner material so it may crack/tear easier and is not actually a monster truck body but the size is correct so it can be made to fit.
Choice for $18 shipped or $30 for both. I'll get you some pics tonight if you're interested.

pics would be good to see. i live in the uk would you ship over here?

I've always like the smooth lines and curves of the female body..

Oh.. the truck... right.. :hehe: I actually like the stock body. I know it's a 25 body on a 4.1...yes, I've dropped the mounts down and trimmed the body..

e bay has great deals on bodys. me i go the fancy way.i have a guy airbrush my bodys.but the price is 150 plus when you roll it boy it hurts the truck and me

The bodies on Ebay are all around £30 i thought that sounded expensive but is that the price i should expect to pay?

dude it depends if your a basher with lots of money or just like it to look nice when sitting on a shelf
1. they r not cheap ($50-$60 austrailian each)
2. they dont take much to damage
3. if u have a pull start they r a pain cuz ur constantly taking it off to start the truck
4.makes engine run hotter

afta a couple head ons and a few upside down landings they arnt good for much but to add to the amout of money wasted on em(unless u got alot of fillament tape)
so my advice to you would be save your money on making it look pretty and inturn spend the money u saved on making it go faster and harder.DRIVE without a shell
Just fit the engine guard to it but make sure its sitting a good inch or so above the head to allow for a bit of give 4 wen you do land upside down
if you own the xl the guard doesn't fit,but i have a great cost free way of mounting it to the truckand can send u a picture2show u how

thanks mate good info, i am a basher who gets it on the roof a lot, big jumps around quarries and building sites, so maybe a decent cage is better than a body.

need to find a cage that looks strong enough.

Many thanks

Running without a body is asking for trouble. They provide a lot of protection. And if you don't constantly crash into stuff, they last a long time. I have bodies floating around from the early '90's. Besides the fact that the body adds to the overall enjoyment of driving. If your constantly trashing bodies, I wouldn't worry about making the truck faster. I'd worry about learning how to drive better.

i aggre matt about learning to drive it better, not had much chance yet to use it much due to the weather in the uk :(

where i bash is pretty harsh not the easiest of terrain, so crashing is inevitable. but hey makes for great fun.

:)
