How many of you 3.3 guys run the revo with a body on it.. What temps are you running with the body on??
I can get my truck tuned in nicely running around 270 degrees but I'm wondering what that temp will climb to with the body on..

Also wondering if the 2 stage air filter makes a big difference.. In the manual it says the 3.3 will not benefit from running a larger filter.

I run the Motor Saver airfilter on my Revo. It really helped the power output when I was running a 3.3. If you have appropriate openings in the body, it shouldn't affect the temps much if at all while the truck is moving. I never ran the truck without a body. My temps were always around 270 with the body on. I lived in South Texas almost on the Mexican border at the time and ambient air temps were usually in the high 90s when I ran.

Never tune your rig without a body on it (unless you never run a body on it). You will get incorrect information as far as temps go. As soon as you put the body on, your temps will rise anywhere from 10 - 30 degrees.

My Revo 3.3 runs @ 280-290 with a body on.....and I never run it without a body.

I am running at about 270 give or take a few with the body on the only time it is not is when I first start so I could prime it and just get it wormed a dat bit.

So you guys remove the body everytime you adjust the needles??? I never run with the body but if the temp rises 10-30 I will be too hot.. This thing is killing me. I have NO airleaks and I'm NOT lean but I will run 290-300 if this info is correct..
I just don't see where the heat can be comming from. Needles are at factory but every part of the fuel system and mill of been sealed tight or replaced..

Does a mill tend to run hot if it is worn out??? Where is the best place for an acurate temp reading>> I'm checking in the cooling head with a temp gauge that saves max reading. I get a higher temp reading if I check around where the exaust header mounts to the motor.

alwasy cut out your front window and back in the body and you should get enough airflow to the motor to not affect temps much...i'm gun shy of high temps so for my basic tuning i'm only seeing 230-240 - yes on the cooler side i know...but it's running well..and that is with the body on...

For the most part I usually run my truck with the body on and have temps at about 270. Unless your a grade a driver and dont wreck, having the body on can save you from busting up your head or other various parts of your truck in a crash. Thats JMO though.

i run mine with the body on and i too keep it a little cool 240-260. i try to keep the body on when i am tuning.

it should be no issue tuning with the body on, yeah the HSN may be a little hard to get too and the LSN is da*n near impossible to get too but it can be done, but if you want consistant tuning keep the body on it

No I never take my lid off unless I have to check for something that seems to be broke. I use a small holesaw and drill a hole to get at the LSN,one for the gas and of course one for the mill that allows you to get at the HSN. I guess I should cut one in the front window but I like it there to try and keep some of the dirt out and my temps are not all that high.
