  1. Bashing
Hey all. I have a revo 3.3 5308 broke in with traxxas 20%. Ran about a gallon through it. I wanna bash this weekend but only have blue thunder 20%. Besides having to retune, is it as bad as some people say? I have a gallon of traxxas on the way but will it be ok? Thx

traxxas and blue thunder are the same crap. buy byron or O'donnell. those fuels are great on performance and smell. blue thunder smells horrible when its burned but byron's got this kinda good orange smell.

I broke my LST in on Blue Thunder specifically because it has a lot of oil in it. I now use Sidewinder 20% with 12% oil, but I had ZERO issues with Blue Thunder and really think it gets a bad reputation.

At any rate, it is WAY better than Traxxas' fuel!!!

its a good break in fuel. but once you heat up no amount of richening will cool off your rig. you have to restart and retune it

Dont laugh at me but when i went to my LHS last week they didnt have any traxxas top fuel. So i just got some of the blue thunder. I have ran a gallon through it in 6 days. I dont plan to buy any more of it though, dont want to risk my engine. So on that note, back maybe 6 years ago when i used to race on road nitro i ran odonnels. Are they still any good. I had great luck with odonnels and would like to try it again.
I run 20% BTW.

TQ fuel!!! Its the only way to go. I'm not only saying it because they are my sponsor but I'm saying it out of true results. Message me and maybe I could send you a sample. Good luck

i know i am new to this fourm. but i have been in rc for a little over 8 years now. i have ran several fuels from the top fuel to byrons to nitrotaine to sidewinder to the blue thunder. all the fuels i have used were good. with the blue thunder i never had any cooling issues unless i had an air leak on the motor. the reason i don't run the top fuel or blue thunder anymore is i am in the racing mode and my engines and myself seem to like the way the sidewinder 30% world's blends acts. but with my first t-max 2.5 running top fuel i got 5 gallons before exchanging it. then i tried the blue thunder "BREAK-IN" fuel and used it. it was good for breaking in a 3.3 traxxas motor alot more oil then the top fuel. and i ran blue thunder 20% for awhile until i got drug into the raceing aspect...i am sure you all saw my arm being twisted right?...then i started using sidewinder and byrons. but with all the fuels i have used it depends on what type of running your going to be doing? racing...i would say sidewinder, byrons, o'donnell etc etc, for bashing top fuel blue thunder, trinity fuel along that line. i have yet ran into a bad fuel. alot depends on your tuning ability and skills.

i ran blue thunder for awhile, i can't say its a bad fuel, but there are better. It ran, but my engines seemed to run alot better with alot more power on the white lighting. the blue stuff was just harder to tune, and the extra oil robbed a little power.
