My Savage 25 RTR has only front wheel drive, no 4-wheel drive, i would keep using it untill i got it fixed but it spins the front tires soo fast that it shifts while burning out and neaver reaches top speed even on tar. What really tickes me off is that @ my LHS, they were jumping their savages off the roof of the store and i can't even get mine running through a tank of gas with no crazy stuff, just normal jumps and stuff without it breaking, my LHS is very good, they only charged me 10 bucks 2 find out what was wrong with my truck and fix it!

Do a search on the Savage spider diff mod lots of links on here I'm sure.
 
dude fix it your self,use your manual, its not hard at all and the 10 can go for parts,are you sure you dont have a stripped rim,or loose set screws might wanna check this first it happend to many of us!!!!! and the first thing we all thought was oh boy the DIFF. went out. and if your hobby just took a look they make mistakes also!!!!
 
your rear grub scrow might have fallen out it has happened to me befor. If you did or didnt blow your diff i reccomend rebuilding it with the 4 spider mod its not very hard at all just time consuming. I've done it to mine it was much easier than i expected. I have to rebuild them a agin too even though i have the 4 spider mod in i guess the Picco .26 is hell on the diffs i blew my front and I've been still bashing with it and my rear is on the way out. I've just ordered the parts so ill be rebuilding them soon.
 
i know it's not a striped rim or loose screws because wen i turn the front wheels and hold the back ones, the bevel gear is slipping if i turn the wheels foreward, and if i turn them backward, something else slips, i'm just going 2 bring it 2 my lhs 2day because for 10 bucks, it's worth having it done right and it's worth not taking my time 2 do it.
 
he going to charge you 10.00 plus the parts right?,in the case you stating you must have a broken 13 tooth bevel gear they run about 10.00
 
I took the truck 2 lhs and it was the diff afterall, i had 2 get the 13 tooth bevel gear and the diff. unit, i put it toget her myself for 2 reasons, one: the parts already cost me 53 bucks and two: he encourages ppl 2 work on their own trucks, he says it gives ppl a better understang of how everything works so next tine you have to take it apart, u will know what goes were, he even has costomers that bring it in 2 have it broken in, i don't know why someone would pay 10 bucks 2 have their engine broken in, it's not that hard. once you do it one time your future repairs will be as easy as ever good luck and just have some patience it you will be fine theres always someone on here if you need a hand so go for it.....
