I've been spending a good part of the day Separating the Savage into little pieces to install the extended, lowered CG TVPs, new flat center skid and the hybrid diff/bulkhead from Fast Lane Machine. Wow, their alloy parts are first rate!
I need to know if anyone else has installed the the combo bulkhead, FLM40000, since the shock tower for the Savage X doesn't fit it, nor does the alloy tower I already had installed.
The stock diff separates front to back to allow the tower mounts to slide down and lock in. The alloy diff only separates side to side to install the internals. I can make the alloy mount work, but it would involve machining off the mounts that normally locked into the stock diff.
These are the stock parts, but if you look at the shock tower, it's the two ears at the very bottom that now have nowhere to go to allow the next holes up from mounting into the diff. My alloy shock tower is the same. In the stock setup, the upper arm pins run through those ears.
