my savage 25 came with a black x on the back of the box
does theis mean that the backplate is not secure?
 
yes it does be careful.......











j/k it means it has been sold to the hobby shop and not from the manufacturures.
 
Yes it is updated, I did a search on the HPI forum on "black x" as the key words and this is what I found, the bottom of the page should answer the question for you as it is posted by HPI Staff.....

also it does mean it is from the manufacturer........a little research will yeild the correct answers, not just guess work
