My Tmaxx starts up no problem, when it does start it goes crazy it gasses up on it's own to full speed the only way I can turn off the engine is by pinching the gas. The thing feels like is going to explode. It reaches temps of 400+ and smokes out. All my batteries are charged, i have tried adjusting gas trim on remote and throttle on on the engine. I bought my Tmaxx used and I know nothing about it. Right now I'm feeling like I got ripped off. What can I do to save my Tmaxx and get it going right??I spent alot of money buy this used I don't want it to be a bust. Please help

Do the tires try to spin when you are starting it? If so then the clutch spring is shot or broken. Also check the idle gap it should be about the thickness of a credit card. What engine is in it? Recenter the throttle linkage and make sure the carb is closed before resitting on the servo. Also make sure that the transmitter is on when you start it.

This is one of those questions that have alot of answers since all of the questions werent asked. Such as

Is the throttle servo in the nuetral position?
What engine are you running?
With the engine off and the controler and control box on can you control each servo?
How long did you let it run a full throttle to get a temp of 400 plus degrees?

Well thats all i can think of right now.

If you're hitting 400 degrees, your LSN is WAY too lean.
You also need to take off the filter and look inside the carb when you set the idle and throttle. Make sure everything is moving properly BEFORE you start the engine again.

Look through this link for some helpful information.

The wheels are spinning when I'm starting it. I can get both seros to work when engine is off I also have .26 omega series engine in.

Also the rod by the spur gear gets locked back and grinds into the spur gear. I can flip it back manually but every once in awhile it goes back into grind way at the rod. I am going to have replace the rod cause it is wearing down

if it is flipped towards the spur then your carp is wide open, which means the linkage is not set properly. Readjust that and then you need to look at the cluych behind the clutch bell.

R u talking about the linkage between the carb and the air filter. Sorry I'm new at this so I'm not on point with all the parts

I think you should download the manual from traxxas.com and read it cover to cover. There's always a chance that you were ripped off, but you're ripping yourself off by not reading the book.

As rolex said, temps at 400+ is an engine tuned ENTIRELY too lean. once of my first nitro engines would only run at that tuning which ended in me finding that the engine was actually worn out. If you get this thing tuned to where it should be and it's not running or stalling, it's also a good indication that the engine is shot and needs rebuilt or replaced.

I am talking from the servo all the way to the carb oncluding the swivel point. It has bearings in it one could be bad causing everything to freeze up. Also the position of the card is more than likely off causing all of this to happen. I had the same issue with the locking of the linkage and I loosed the carb set bolt and slightly twisted the carb and the problem went away.
