H O L L A! lol whats up guys. I just broke my front lower control arms hittin the jumps. Usually I would just replace them with the plastic stock ones but I just keep on breakin them. I was going to get some Billet ones from Hardcore or such buy my LHS told me that was a bad idea, reason being that I want the plastic ones to break because if they were metal they wouldnt give and the chassis suspension would get messed up. Are they right, or is it cool to use the Billet control arms and such. I really like how the Billet looks too, plus the strength they provide. Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Well it's all about your pocket book man. You can totally get billett arms but I wouldn't use them for hardcore bashing and jumping. One thing you should try with the plastic stockers is boiling them for about 10-15 minutes. This will allow them to last longer but more importantly it allows them to flex when the truck hits the ground. I have done this with my Nitro MT and it works great. I would imagine that the billet set would cost around $50.00 or so. The stockers I know are like way cheeper.

What companies other than Harcore make Billet replacement parts? I've seen some sweet totally cutom built MT's that have everything alluminum, the frame, control arms, buckles, etc. they look sweet, where are they getting the parts from? Thanks again!

I went down this road with a Maxx. The aluminum is pretty but a hard hit took out not just the arm, but tweaked the bulkhead as well. The new bulk is still aluminum but the arms are now RPM. RPM will replace arms for free if failure is under normal wear and tear.

actually I have aluminum lower arms and bulkhead.. this is a must combo to prevent it from breaking... if you have billet lower arms and stock plastic bulk head.. not a good idea.. you defeat the purpose... I do some major bashing and it holds up pretty damn good...

I am still using the stock shock tower and upper arms... since the bulkhead and lower arms can hold up I don't have to worry about the upper arms and shock tower

Thats the kind of setup I'm looking to do TRD. What brands make nice Billet parts other than hardcore? Ill probably replace my bulkheads with Billet ones now that you mention it. Eventually I would like to have everything billet...lower arms, upper arms, shock tower, bulkheads, etc. Again, who makes these parts, i need some options! Thanks for replying so quick.

TRD, in your gallery there is a pic titled "Beefy" showing the aluminum lower arms. What is the purple piece in the front that the lower arm is connecting to, it looks like it connects the two bulkheads at the bottom?

GPM.....

GPM makes 2 types

Heavy Duty
Super Heavy Duty (thicker)

I got the Heavy Duty....

I've been taking mad jump and bad landings and keep on truckin...

There is also a company on Ebay selling set for really cheap.. blue something...

I've heard bad reviews on them...

just make sure to get both arms and bulkhead at the same time..

what is that purple piece? Is that something i should probably get too?

Are the Hardcore Bulkheads for the Tmaxx compatible with the Savage25? I can't find much made my Hardcore specifically for the savage. Also, i can find the GPM products at towerhobbies or horizonhobby.

I usually get my GPM parts from RCM or Savage Central.. depending on which one has sales...

that purple piece are stock on a Savage
