Biggest spur gear?

I have a revo platinum edition, an wanting to know what's the biggest spur that will fit without shaving/mod the chassie? Thanks

Probably a 40 is all you're gonna get.

you can run the jato clutch bell 16t 32 pitch spur gear 50t 32 pitch.i run this set up now on my revo with no mods.i have also run the 16t cb 54t sg but you have to shim the trans. up a little.but if you run the jato cb/sg you have to buy the bearings because the stock bearings won't work.if you need the part #'s i can get them.

16t/50t=3.12
16t/54t=3.38

Being a 32 pitch, it should be roughly the same size as a 40t revo spur....I think.

yes the 50t .08 pitch (32) is the bout the same size as the 40t 25 pitch stock revo spur gear.that is why when you change you have too change clutch bell,cb bearings.


Remember, we are looking for the largest (usable) spur gear combined with the smallest possible clutch bell gear. The largest Jato spur gear that can be used on the Revo (without modification to the chassis) is the 56t spur gear (#3957). The smallest clutch bell available from Traxxas that is compatible with the Jato spur gear is the 16t clutch bell (#4116). Note that the #4116 clutch bell requires smaller 5x8mm bearings (#5114). These gears combined give a 3.5:1 ratio. This is significantly lower than the 14/40 combo, and the difference can really be felt during a crawl. Be aware, though, that Jato gears are not compatible with Revo gears, as they are approximately 32-pitch gears, and Revo gears are closer to 25-pitch.

this i found on traxxas hop up's.but the biggest spur gear i found that would fit w/o mods was the 50t.

Why in the world would you need to run gearing that low on a nitro MT??

I converted my revo to eletric, so il be running a 22 or 24 pinion
