Will the xtm 24.7 engine fit in my t-maxx?
What kind of modifications will I have to do to make it fit if I have to?
Is the modifications easy?

You would need a big block conversion. That would include a longer chassis, new engine mounts, new exhaust, and a new throttle linkage setup... Blah blah blah...

Umm, probably more than you are willing to spend... That is just the major stuff... You will also need to do something about your diffs, axles, and transmission. All in all, i would say over $350...

sell the maxx ..put that money with what you would spend to do the conversion & engine

& buy a hpi savage or losi lst ....money much better spent

for about 100 bucks you can get the XTM conversion kit off E-bay.....the mill for about 130......that kit has the pipe/clutch/(6) CVDs/chassis/braces....you'll have a nice truck after all that, but then you get into upgrading the gears as they break too....Retarded Pilot has a good suggestion there......unless you are really resourceful and can get good deals on parts I'd say dump the maxx too....

Ok regardless on whether this member will be happy or not he wants to know the fitting and what mods he would to get done. No one asked whether or not He would be happier with the savage. I personally like tmaxx. Great platform to build off.

NC,

I'm just stating out of bad personal experience with the maxx.

It's a good truck if you leave it stock, in my opinion.

Just my :2cents:

I did the XTM conversion kit to my Tmaxx. I had the Hyper 8 port in it though. I got the kit from Horizion hobby, (I think they discontinued it now though) for like $140. One of the spendier things was to convert all the internal transmission gears to metal. But it had to be done. With my Maxx ( and $1200 later) My Savage straight out of the box would have Walked all over my Tmaxx. Tmaxx is a good platform to build off of, but is now outdated, and takes more money than its worth now to keep up with the big blocks. I kick myself in the ass now all the time for wasting all that money in my maxx. I think alot of people in here do.

I've had 2 savvy's and about 12 maxx's, 2 of which were big blocks, those I still own. I've not had any probs with anything...diffs are stock...as far as the tranny I've only upgraded one of my trucks with RRP gears. I'm also running a ported/polished S-25 in both trucks and the XTM kit as well. IMHO, the conversion is well worth the money if your a Maxx fanatic like I am.........

Rooster I can't find the kit on there for 200.......can you post a link to the exact page??? and yes I did try their search engine.....if that 200 includes the mill you're set......if not, the XTM set is on par w/ the dynamite......and you can usually find em on flea bay for 110 w/ Buy it now.....

AHHHH that's what I thought....200 for just the chassis stuff...no mill....damn!
I'm torn between making another truggy out of my T-maxx and another Mutant maxx chassis I have or just keeping the T-maxx all regular MT and drop a BB in it.....

Plaid, I kept one of my T-Maxx's (wife's) almost entirely stock, mostly so she can run it without worry and show a few bodies I painted, and then I bought a roller chassis S-Maxx and went the full BB (Picco .26) route after adding 4 wheel drive. This way I had the FOC already as well.
