on a savage x do u guys prefer dual shocks or big bores? my rig came with plastic big bores n i upgraded to the aluminum big bores from HPI, but do u guys think there is a better set up for jumpin n bashing?

Big bore shocks will make a big difference but the double shock setup works fine for me in my X with some 40wt.

My truck came with the dual shocks and that's all I've used. They're cheap to fix and don't break very often anyway. Big jumps and bashing is all I do with my Savage.

thats my thing i jump that thing like a dirtbike. I've raced motocross since i was 4 yrs old so its in my blood. lol

Same here, I'm hitting the same jumps with my rc that I would hit with my bike, go big or go home. I would say dual, the big bores are nice but the duals seem to handle big air a little better, and are cheaper to replace.

i would have to get bolts n stuff to put them on cuz my bolts for the big bores are too short a think? n what a good brand? this site is awsome i love bein able to talk to other sav guys. me and my boss are the only 2 ppl around that are addicted to rc cars that i know of n he has a revo so dont know anything. but I'm tryin to get him to convert to a sav, he sees how mych of a beetin mine takes n definitely got him thinkin about it

The Big bores are good shocks but I think for the huge air the two shocks do hold up pretty well. I have LST shock on mine which are the ultra big bore. We will see how they hold up. I have now bashed them super hard before. They Look cool though..lol If worse comes to worse if you are going to be doing big air you can add a smaller stock shock in with the big bore to add a bit more beef to the suspension. Just a though.

Should the big bore shocks mount in front or behind the rear axles on the Savage XL?
