Too much horsepower is just right! The Revo big block installation kit makes it easy to bolt primal big block engine torque into the high-tech Revo. Just imagine having the most suspension travel available in any monster truck, combined with the big block engine of your choice. No matter which big block you choose, Revo’s low center of gravity, lightweight, and efficient drivetrain means you’ll get the most performance out of every ounce of horsepower you put in. It’s a torque-hungry rock crawlers dream! This is a Genuine Traxxas™ kit so you can be sure that it will fit right and has been engineered and tested to the same rigorous standards as Revo. The big block installation kit includes all the components and hardware necessary for a factory engineered, quality installation. Suggested Retail Price: $50.00

Traxxas

To bad they just won't bite the bullet and make a damn 1/8 truck. Instead...

Hear ya go, shove 2+hp into this truck and keep buying drivetrain parts from us because your a MORON!!! But wait, there's more!!! Notice how there is no room to work on it! Have fun folks!

Sorry, was that bitter?

I still like watching movies of the revo though. It looks like it's floating on a cloud.

Hmm I have the Tmaxx still and will not let it go for a revo. I love the way it takes a beating. My Sirio Maxx is great and I can attest to dropping in the sirio 23. Mad crazy power.

no more big blocks for any Traxxas product! I am getting a revo next year but I am not about to stuff another big block in a truck that comes stock with a small block. Like olds said, keep buying drivetrain parts. That's what I was doing for the first 2 or so months with the tmaxx and I fear it isn't over yet because I have been having very minor problems with the transmission, but those could escalate into major problems later on.

These drive lines are bigger and a way better yoke design. No more metal ball with spikes that either crack through the whole or stretch it way out. I was the biggest advocate with CVD's on the T-Maxx and that was with a small block. My opion of the new drive axels are much better and I think they can handle big block power. Read this, he talks about the use of the new Revo drivelines on .21 and up Cybermaxx's https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23684

I just bought the Big Block conversion kit for the Revo from qoncepts.com The kit includes mounts, a really neat manifold that will allow the use of a standard pipe in the stock revo location. Adjustable linkages and the use of a standard 1/8 style clutch! You do lose the Roll bar, but a good SUV style body should protect the engine good enough. I should have it in the next week so I will give you guys a good review when it arrives.

Hi Red, I have been alittle busy, but will post some pics of the kit and what I had to do to make it work asap,

Sounds good. I understand busy....but I finally get two weeks off vacation. :smoke: I'm very interested to see what it looks like and what kind of results you get compared to stock. Thanks!!

I just put a OFNA Force .32 on my Revo and love it. I used the traxxas kit but also had to dremel a few spots. I also bought a Losi 454 .28 they both claim to have 3+hp but for now I am happy with the Force on the track. Not much on the top end that's why I might put the Losi 454 in it to give it a shot.

Is the losi 454 a good engine I'm thinkin of gettin one for my t-maxx?

Is it a pull start? can you kindly post pictures, i'll follow it, i am converting my revo also, i was told that the traxxas BB kit will only work with a bumpstart engine...

tHanks

The only BB kits that work with a pull or roto start are the New Era ones. One kit is similar to the other kits except it comes with a new top aluminium A-arm so it fits around the pull/roto start mount or the other like what I have (and love it) mounts the engine on a higher angle so the pull start is clear of the A-arm! Both are very well made but are very hard to come by. I had to wait for about 2 months of pestering New Era with emails for the new mount and when they finally got there stock up again I pounced on it... You do have to be quick. For pull or roto start New Era is the only way to go!!

no need to be rude , just a few up grade's and the .26 JL red dot is just fine in my revo lots of power but if you go bigger you may have probs offen, so in a way you are right, but still no need to be rude to some one looking for in put, after all that what the forums are mostly about ,is helping one anouther in the hobby that we like so much

I wasn't really being rude to the requester, but rather sarcastic at Traxxas.

Since that post, I've had 2 revos, put bb's in both. The one I have remaining is currently one of my "go to" trucks.

New Era leaner BB kit, LRP28S3 engine, side pipe... I'm surprised at how well it holds up to the power, but it did require some RRP steel in the trans to make it more than a weekend or so without shelling it out.

I just keep center axles on hand as well as a couple spare diffs. Well, now that I have bulletproofed the trans that is.
